Damn it. I predicted 3 million for one week and I was thinking that I was being too optimistic! Turns out it's almost 4 million in five days?? :O

That is a big number... But it still didn't push a lot of systems. Far more than normal, yes, but still...

It will be interesting to see where hardware numbers go from here; will they go back to what they were a few weeks before Halo 3, or will they be falling to a slightly higher plateau? We only have a few weeks to find out because Christmas is coming...

And there are more good software releases on the 360 soon, so it will be hard to find out Halo's effect anyway...

I'll be honest: I really dislike Halo. But, I still see this is as great news, because I'm just so super glad that a video game holds the world record now, instead of that stupid Spider-Man 3 movie. It really shows that the game industry is taking over the world, and we're all here playing the games and making it happen! Booyah!

 Unfortunately Metroid Prime 3 is unlikely to ever see the sales it truly deserves even with Wii sales going through the roof.

wii owners are not going to buy games in the amount that the 'hardcore' gamers will..

Im quite impressed. Halo is a franchise thats about 6 years old and has made such an impact on the gaming industry.

Hmm... Contrary to some folks' belief, the Halo games have VERY impressive legs... In terms of the drop-off, it will be huge, but the sustained weekly sales will still trump practically any other game in it's similar week. Only stuff like Nintendogs and Mario will be higher, but they don't have a 2.6M NA / 3.8M WW opening week.

With that in mind, what do people expect by year end? ~6M? More?
