@ shio...you know, there is this magical thing that is called "torrent sites"...and being a Pc fan all the way,why don`t you tell everyone that they can get the game for free?

And yes,I am part of the "dirty console gaming peasant" on your avatar. But at least I rent my console games that i can not buy day 1,so i support the developers. The millions of Pc players that are supporting piracy do not.

And btw, when you download a Steam game = download a torrent game, because you send real money for a download, not a hard copy that you can do what you want with it.

You appear conflicted. Are you for or against piracy? Or are you just picking on PC gaming or Shio in general?

I personally have two reasons to use Steam over regular hardcopies and Piracy.
1. It's easier (no cracking, no installation, all games at the same place, auto-updating....)
2. It's cheap yet still supports the developers. I'm a man of modest means and cannot afford paying retail prices. Steam sales offers me a great opportunity to pay what I can afford to play the games I want to play.

I am against piracy. So I joined the console community because I can rent games 1st day,so I support the developers.

Pc gaming is plagued with piracy so I am going to consoles because I pay for games and don`t want to be associated with people that steal and get the same treatment.

For what I know,Shio is supporting Pc gaming because he is a pirate but sais he is legit. No one has acces to his computer,so he is legit, even if he could be a thief.

All I`m saing is hardcore gamers know what torrent sites are and will not wait months for a game to drop 50% in price. They will pirate it day1 and play it. They will get away with it,because no one has the right to go into your computer and ask questions about what you own. So I don`t see the Pc as the king of gaming.

I'm with you Stan85.

I bet shio is a pirate just like I am. Steam sux. Why pay for downloads when you can get them on a neighboring site for free? I am with you on the idea of physical copies. If Im gonna pay for a game, at least I want a physical copy of it.

For clarification, I am a huge pirate just on PC (not the X360 since I have not modded it). The reasons are that piracy is perfectly acceptable here in Sweden, no one condemns it. There's even political parties formed to defend piracy here lol. So I aint gonna be the dumb fool who pays for the entertainment of all these thieves. No way.

I am against piracy, but the nature of man is to steal rather than pay (or make up sophisticated intricate reasons to justify it, see above), so the only way to stop it is simply to make it physically impossible.

So promoting Steam is just to make you appear legit I think.

Id buy it, but I think I will wait on the GOTY edition in OCT, so Im not stuck paying out the ass for DLC.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

This here is an argument that I cannot really understand. You don't buy games on PC because others will think you're a theif. Great idea! Don't support the PC industry, leave it alone for pirates to tear apart. That will surely help the situation.

There's an excellent alternative to piracy, and promoting it is supposed to be a sign that you're a pirate? So either you're a pirate for not using Steam, or you're a pirate because you say you are using it. Love the logic.

If anyone is the problem in this situation, it's you guys. You assume PC users are pirates. And since you assume that, you assume everyone else assumes the same. Somewhat poor assumptions, in my book. And that you respectable non-pirates move away from the platform further cements all assumptions about PC and piracy.

And Slimebeast, Steam does not suck. It's an excellent service and I gladly buy games from it. Less hassle, legal and pretty cheap. It is actually a better service than piracy in every respect except cost.  I used to download games illegaly. A lot. But even worse, I didn't really buy any PC games at all until Steam came along. Now I much rather buy a game off Steam than download it.

Yes, I would also prefer physically owning my games but with prices of steam I can buy up to 10 times as many games as before. That's a significant advantage.

I just bought it again. Screw it. Better than any game so far this gen by a goddamn country mile.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I can download up to 10 times as many games as before (I was paying). That's a significant advantage."

Get my point? Anyone can do what I said,it`s very easy on Pc. On consoles? No way, they are the perfect DRM devices.

No disc,no play. No 2 discs,no co-op play over the net.

Like I said,get my point?

You are making this complicated with your babbling. :) We're just saying that:

1. The majority of PC gamers pirate their games, especially the 'elite' PC enthusiasts, who are well known for frequently buying powerful hardware instead of wasting their money on games that they very easily can get for free.

2. There are tricks that give you 'moral points'. One way is using all these quasi-arguments to justify pirating games ("my personal integrity is broken if my IP address is tracked to reveal what I torrent", "the movie and music industry is greedy and corrupt" or "their business model is old-fashioned" etc). Another way is to hide that you are in fact a thief by pretending that you are legit and buy your games from Steam. (and we believe shio is one of them)
