Forums - Gaming - X360 is getting better while PS3 is getting worse?

Sony getting worse? Sony likely to charge, i bet that was there plan all along? apart from dropping PS2 B/C it has progressed very well, as for charging for online did they do that with the PS2? Such a stale subject I'm surprised some of you have not been admitted to hospital with food poisoning

Xbox 360

- Core Model was replaced by Arcade

  Wired Controller => Wireless Controller

No internal Memory => 256 MB internal memory

No HDMI port => HDMI port added

$280 => $200  Core model didn't get all those changes at the same time, nor the price was cut from the original $300 to the current $200 in just one slash.

- Pro Model was upgraded

  HD : 20 GB => 60 GB

Price : $400 => $300  Again, after two cuts and several hardware (board) revisions.

Xbox Live was upgraded with

- NXE ( looks horrible even in 720p...on a big 1080p display, resolution which the new NXE dashboard does NOT support, it looks hideous) and what about those Miis...lol, no comment on that.  I prefer the old blades)

  Avatars no comment...yeah, that's a pro, lol.

Netflix for Xbox live GOLD users, yeah.

- Facebook, twitter, Hulu etc. No browser though, huh?

Games

- 360 still has the largest library of games, both overall and yearly (but not necesserily the best. Exclusives lacking overall, specially this year)

- 360 stole even more exclusives from ps3 (virtua fighter 5, ff13, new metall gear solid etc) irrelevant, just as with the hardware additions, all this does is make the 360 almost as good as the P3 has always been (hardware and library wise)

- Xbox live games have increased substantially (the best exclusive downloadable games are in the PSN Store, period. Quantity doesn't equal quality.)

- Xbox 1 compability has increased (now more than 50% of original games are compatible) false. And microsoft is cutting off all xbox originals from the market place, what do u say about that)

- Games proved to be improving and better than/on par with ps3  false, fanboy shit

PS3

Cons
- PS2 compatibility was removed       still compatible with PS1,plus all the ps1 originals in the store is still miles better than mediocre Xbox 1 titles with weak compatibility for the 360.

- Usb Ports were decreased from 4 to 2. Still more than the 360 and still more useful on the PS3.

- Flash card readers were removed. USB works all the same, no biggie.

- SACD support was removed. Who used that? lol

- Hulu support was removed. whatever. Anything else to nitpick? how about the 3rd screw from the left above the middle metal plate covering the disc tray? yeah, you figured it out, the PS3 has no disc tray, it's all bullshit like this fanboy nitpick

- Lost many exclusives to 360 You should see it as the 360 being decent enough to earn games developers never considered making for their failure Xbox system. Games like Final Fantasy or Metal Gear, Capcom franchises, GTA etc were never Sony exclusive as they were present in other system since forever.

Pros

- Home was added but received mixed reviews. Why list it as a pro just to follow it with a con? anyway, it's not even a pro. totally retard.

- PSN has improved but still trails well behind Xbox Live  What's well behind? that is free and have tons of quality content, not to mention it's free and plays excellently flawless like Ripoff-Live?

- Price was dropped by $100 but stays the most expensive console, and even more so in PAL regions. 'cause it's expensive to make and the makers want to make a profit? Its value is worth it, every penny. Still the 360 sells for half and nobody wants it, it seems they will have to cut it to $150 sooner or later before a $300 PS3 rips it a new one, cause at $200 it's the poorest seller ever this side of the old xbox and gamecube.

- Ps3 exclusives showed somewhat better graphics than 360, and 3rd part games compare better, although 360 still has a slight overall advantage. PS3 is getting games (in less than a year: Killzone 2, Infamous, Uncharted 2, MAG, R&C CiT, GodW3, Demon's Souls, White Knight Chronicles, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain) 360 is getting scraps (halo ODST, overpriced, overrated DLC, piss poor sequels like forza 3 and left4dead 2, only good promising exclusive game in a LONG while is Splinter Cell Conviction)

Let's disscuss! There's nothing to discuss, really. You whole post is bullshit. You don't even list "cons" for the 360, so you're implying it has only gotten better really? well , what can I tell you, the 360 is really the one that needed and still needs to improve to catch up with the value the PS3 offers, even if it sells so low and being 1 year older, lol. It's a good system though, a poor man's choice or someone with really bad taste.

A few other funny tidbits:

1.  360 doesn't have Hulu support.  0_o

2.  PS3 didn't really lose Hulu support.  I mean, it only had it via the web browser, and you can still stream it via other programs to your ps3 from your pc.

So yeah, you kinda created an advantage for the 360 and a disadvantage for the ps3 out of thin air there.

3. At launch, the USB ports, flash card readers, etc. weren't standard across all SKUs.  The 20gb SKU never had any of these things.  While yes, all SKUs no longer have any of these things by default, they do now have wi-fi by default.  Out of the three, I'd say wi-fi was more useful then extra USB ports or SD card support.

4. Home is a free service that some enjoy and others don't see any use for (like myself).  Similarly, some will love last.fm on their 360s while others will never touch it.

I'd rather have XBox Live over PSN any day, regardless of it's cost. $50/12 months = $4.17 a month. Oh no!

I'd agree...xbox live is the best of the best, i love it.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

360 is a great machine and is getting better with age, games rock, have the best controller, has a headset, ethernet cord, component cables or hdmi cables included, plus a very to great rpg library, also alot of ppl in these arguements forget for some damn reason that every single 360 system comes with a silver account which means u get check out all the demo's,and theme's and movies and such , also u can play some games online for free using a sliver account ( final fantasy 11 online, silver is all u need to play ), plus in the topic they mentioned about xbox 1 games being able to work on the system at a 50% clip , they are referring to the games u bought on a disk and not from xbl, a big damn difference.
ps3 is also a great machine and is getting better just alittle slower, psn still needs some work to be more caparable to xbl,yes psn is free but for being free it sometimes feels abit unfullfilled in its look and creative nature since no money is being put into it, the ps3 exclusives do look very good to great like msg4,uncharted,infamous,killzone 2 and having blu-ray included is a nice feature but i think wasnt needed, being able to charge your controllers through your system is a nice feature, the look of the system is also a very cool style, overall i have become very impressed with the ps3 over time even more then when it 1st launched and i know it will continue to improve.

overall both system's are great gaming and entertainment machines and owners of both or one of them is going to be happy for many years to come and that i think is the most important thing to remember than discussing which system is better or not than the other.

Alas, even with these flaws the OP posted...people still buy the console which renders all it's con's unoticable over pro's. :)

For the PS3 these are all the games released in 2009 that scored higher than 80 on Metacritic: Street Fighter IV, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Killzone 2, MLB 09: The Show, Fight Night Round 4, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Flower, Guitar Hero: Metallica, Resident Evil 5, Comet Crash, Red Faction: Guerrilla, inFAMOUS, Skate 2, UFC 2009 Undisputed, Yakuza 3, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, Bomberman Ultra, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, ZEN Pinball, Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.

Where 7 exclusive are titles.

For the XBOX360 these are all the games released in 2009 that scored higher than 80 on Metacritic: Street Fighter IV, Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Peggle, Fight Night Round 4, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Resident Evil 5, Guitar Hero: Metallica, Skate 2, UFC 2009 Undisputed, Fallout 3: Point Lookout, Rocket Riot, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, Fallout 3: Broken Steel, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, Halo Wars, Space Invaders Extreme, Ghostbusters.

Where 4 are exclusives (Bethesda has officially stated all Fallout 3 DLC is coming to the PS3).

So there we have it, the PS3 in 2009 has had the better (i.e. higher quality) games released so far.

yay!!! Another topic reminding us the 360 was better than the ps3, for a moment I was starting to forget...

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.
