Ok no, this is pissing me off now.

Who hyped this game out of proportion? Someone please answer this now before i eat myself. Where are people like BladeOfGod getting their bullshit from. I have been from site to site, and yes, people have gotten excited over this game, no more excited than some got for SSBB or MKWii. The most i heard was that The Conduit would be the best FPS available on the Wii, which is perfectly reasonable though some others will inevitably prefer CoD: WaWii or Metroid Prime 3 if you'd like to include that.

BladeOfGod, no one expected this game to have a 91 Metacritic score but yourself. And stop tagging every Wii supporter as a fanboy for gods sake. Why do people use this word so god damn loosely, hardly anyone knows what it actually means. You talk of "wii fanboys" over and over again, yet you are found here jetting nonsense left right and center, you have not said anything productive or thoughtful since you entered this thread, all you have done is pissed people off and attempted to start arguments.

We all expected The Conduit to be a great shooter and it is... that is all. No one, absolutely no one said it was going to be better than Killzone 2 or other acclaimed shooters, how anyone could think this considering the circumstances is far beyond me. Heavens forbid that there are people who had these kinds of expectations for the game, but I've yet to come across them.

First of all, calm down a bit.

Second, I called that guy a wii fanboy because he said gameplay for HD multiplatforms are horrible ( something wii fanboys are saying over and over again)

Third, I said that I PERSONALY  expected Conduit to be equal with KZ2 on metacritic and that its a flop in  MY eyes.

So you personally set a ridiculously high expectation for the game, then call it a flop because it didn't meet the metascore. Have you read any sensible reviews for the game? It is a raging success, but for obvious reasons it has not beat out the worlds best FPS titles. It sounds to me like those who over hyped the crap out of this game weren't in fact Wii/Nintendo supporters or fans, just heated wii fanboys (who i have yet to encounter) and haters who never have anything nice to say.

arsenal009 was probably wrong for calling gameplay in multiplat games for the PS3/X360 horrible because that's just incorrect (Bioshock anyone?). If he was talking about multiplatform games that are also available on Wii then he is still wrong. You should have simply corrected him and moved on. Prove me otherwise if i'm wrong about this, but you strike me as the kind of person who is quick to point the fanboy finger at those who even slightly disagree with you... or if it is consequently related to nintendo in any way. Before you get the wrong idea, no i'm not accusing you of being a fanboy, mostly just a hater.

You should not have expected The Conduit to equal with a high quality, highly respected shooter such as Killzone 2... not in quality and especially not in an overall metascore. You should of kept reasonable expectations taking into account all the circumstances.

How technical is your game?

You get way to pissed for something that is posted by someone you don't know on the internet relax.

A personally flaw of mine, forgive me, i am working on it. Bullshit pisses me off, there is nothing i hate more than having lies, ignorance and just plain idiocy thrown in my face. It is not fair to those who are exposed to it.

ppl shouldnt give a damn about the reviews for games and just buy the game if u want it or play a demo if ones available and then get it if u like it. if i gave a damn about what the critics think about games, music, movies i wouldnt own 70% of the game and movies that i do.
perfect example - transformers:revenge of the fallen, the critics tore it apart and gave it a extremely low score/rating. i loved the 1st one so much i own it on all formats is was released on ( dvd - both versions regular dvd box and the prime and megtron transforming dvd case,hd-dvd and blu-ray versions as well ). and i will for the 2nd one as well, i loved the 2nd one even more than the 1st one, i have already seen it 4 times. :) if i paid or cared what the critics thought of this movie i wouldnt have seen it and i would have missed a great movie. point being listen to your instincts and your gut feeling and not the stupid critics/reviwers out their.

Well, no matter what any of you think, the Conduit does NOT deserve the 40 it got from Giant Bomb

I think I expected it to be an 8.5 game. I would say its realistically probably like a 8.2-8.3. Reviews are important to gauge the product for consumers but there is of course personal taste that comes into play. Case in point is NMH, 7.8 on IGN which I think is deserved but one of the hugest followings of games on the wii. As people have said people will buy something if its fun regardless of what its rated. People care about the score though because it gives clueless people an idea of what they're getting into. Unfortunately a large portion of wii owners are clueless and those who like the game want the clueless people to buy it so we get a second.

When I first started playing the single player I was somewhat disappointed to be honest. It just didn't feel like anything special. The farther you get in the single player though the better it gets. Not having owned a wii online fps yet, the conduit online as people have said can only be described as pure crack. Regardless what people say I've clocked more hours playing the conduit than probably the last 10 games I've bought for my wii. To me that is a success even if the game isn't groundbreaking or earthshattering.

In a week I'll have played it more than I've played MP3, SMG, NMH, or SSBB.

i'll go with user score which is 8.9

you can say whatever shit you want about user reviews, but the only fanboys here are the reviewers that will never admit that one great 3rd party Wii exclusive exist

What's interesting is when you compare meta and user scores against Call of Duty: World at War.

Call of Duty: WaW scores:

Meta - 83

User - 82

The Conduit scores:

Meta - 74

User - 86

So the users think it's the best FPS on the platform, but the reviewers think it's about as good as the PSP port Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 (74). Worse, once Metacritic adds the 4 that EDGE gave it.

that makes a lot of sense, cause it really feels amazing to play the Conduit, at least to me, using that thing to find hidden things is very cool and there are so many unique guns and stuff

it's much better than WaW, the best Wii FPS by far, but Honor Heroes 2 is great as well, but not even close to Conduit

i've also seen the difference in meta and user score, by other people on this site said user score are just 0s and 10s, which is not, because just by looking at WaW user score you can see it's logical and also only IGN has 0s and 10s

and since Wii owners like the game, i think it will have over 100k launch and much legs as well :  )

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

i bought it. i had fun. i still have fun. really, what are reviews based on nowadays? it probably isnt fun.
