It can reach 10 million with all the consoles together, it's THE Beatles after all.

It's also 200 something dollars. And it's Rock Band. And we're talking about the 360 only.

OHH, and add Hexic HD in 10 million sellers, it should be the 360 highest selling game at this time since it comes with every HD. If we consider Wii Sports we should consider Hexic HD too.

I would say that Halo 3, Call of Duty MW2 and GTA IV. Halo 3 is definately going to make it, and Call of Duty/GTA IV have a good chance of making it from name recognition and legs alone.

MW2 has a decent chance, but im actually rating COD MW chances higher due to people getting sick of the series and/or staying with older COD games.

GTA IV/V will have a pretty good chance, that name is still massive and the console sales are shooting past 40M so it won't need such a killer attach rate to do it.

100-1 has a pretty good chance since its free!

Like you, I'm more suspicious of MW2's chances than COD4's chances (and as above I don't even think the latter will hit the 10mil mark). It will undoubtedly have a much greater opening week, which will be a huge plus as opening week is more or less all that separates COD4's total from H3's total, but I reckon the standard sequel apathy might settle in such that MW2 only breaks 8mil.

Don't think GTAV will hit 10mil but I guess it's far, far, far, far too early to really say anything on that front. As for IV, I think it will depend on bundling. If MS bundled it this Christmas, perhaps in some sort of deal with Gay Tony (or both DLCs), then I would feel very confident of it breaking 10mil, but I just don't think they'd do that and so I'm not confident of 10mil. The advantage that GTAIV has over COD4 is that GTAIV's successor won't be out until 2011 (date estimation based on analyst Todd Mitchell's comments), so it won't be competing with a new sibling for a while longer whereas MW2 is out this November. I think GTAIV will probably also just break 9mil.

There is nothing to suggest Halo has peaked ... you're just hoping it has.

The original trilogy has come to a close, and now we have an expansion, albeit a supposedly substantial one, in ODST, an RTS spin-off in Wars and a new direction in Reach.

None of those 3 titles are likely to hit 10mil; Reach has the best chance but I don't see its opening matching H3 with 3.8 first week nor do I see it having the same legs.

I'll happily eat humble pie if I'm proven wrong, but from where I'm standing (and Montana, judging by the page refresh) it doesn't seem unreasonable to make such an assessment. It's a shame then that you went on auto-pilot and accused me of fanboyism with the latter part of your post.

If Microsoft get into gear I see no reason why a new Halo game (whichever one it may be) can do 10 mill+

and I went into "auto pilot" because its true, your soul purpose to come on this site is to attack the 360 and praise the PS3, you're not capable of anything else.

My post was demonstrably reasonable and moreover within moments an experienced member of the site had already shown a level of support for my view. The logical conclusion can only be that my post was fair and intelligent, rather than slanted and influenced. If you genuinely smell fanboyism in one of my posts then call it out for sure, but right now you're sounding like the boy who cried wolf...

All I ever hear from you is negativity towards Microsoft, why is it I can see most PS3 fanboys on this site can praise Microsoft when needed, talk about stuff OTHER than Microsoft/Sony related and actually engage in decent convo .... but you ..

All I ever hear when I read your posts is "blah blah blah blah blah I hate Microsoft"

Sorry, but where exactly in this thread did I hate on Microsoft? Please, I implore you, show me these posts you speak of.

If I say "I don't think Reach can make 10mil as the main trilogy is complete", it's not an attack on Microsoft. This most recent post of yours ultimately betrays your gross over-sensitivity. Seriously, grow a thicker hide and learn to accept that people can hold views that oppose yours without the former being somehow automatically illegitimate.

Well first off I must say I love how you word your posts, so intelligent, its almost as if you use it as a way of intimidating people. Really boy this is a forum, is their much need for you to be in the mindset this in an English essay?

You can defend your posts all you like, not all hate on Microsoft, but they most certainly are negative, you can't deny that as you know your soul purpose for coming on this site is to be negative towards Microsoft.

And please don't try and psychoanalyse me, I'm not over sensitive to anything you write.

Seece, those weren't very big words. Nor was his writing style that complicated. You're not helping your case.

I think MW1 has a great chance of passing 10M because of the boost the series gets when a new one is released at the holiday season. It got a boost last year with COD 5 and other games like Gears 1 got a boost with the release especially if the game gets a pricecut in time for the release of the next game. Its frequently outselling the more recent released Call of Duty 5 and now its so big its just going to keep going, especially with the generation so young as it is.

GTA IV is like the above really it will get a boost from the holidays and it will get a boost when the price is cut. It simply has name recognition on its side and most people walking into a store today will be familiar with the name of the franchise.

Call of Duty MW1 is #9 on the Xbox 360 chart and selling 27k per week. (7.5M total) So before the end of the year it will definately crack 8.5M with a holiday boost.

GTA IV is #24 on the chart and selling 11k per week. (7.1M total) So before the end of the year it should crack 7.8M especially if they release a special edition with the DLC.

Its still out of place and not the way 99% of the people on this site speak.

Seece, drop it! You have other revelry to participate in! Consider the Xbox 360 > Wii threads, and make happy faces.
