Complete fail with thread title. In other news, the sky is red.

The thread title is based on my source, not on my opinion

So does this mean Blu ray exclusivity for some titles.

Very good and important question.

The OP mentions DVD and BR being on the same discs in some future venture. Expect to see price go up as this happens.  Basically, what I'm saying, is that it could come to be that you NEED to buy the BR disc in order to watch it in regular DVD. There would no longer be those 10$ DVDs in the dvd aisles.

Well, that is, until people accept BR has won and move on with their lives. Then prices will fall back down.

This would be HUGE. if it happened that is.

wow serious damage control going down in this thread and we are not even sure if this is going to happen or not. I mean, most of us already know Blu Ray is here to stay, it's mostly people that were in denial that are here trashing it once again.

paramount recently added their catalog to the wii video service in japan. if it reaches the west i expect paramount to suppor tit wholeheartedly

It would be a welcome site to see DVD/Blu-Ray hybrids... I really liked that about HD DVD. Finding a blu-ray player for your vehicle is difficult if not impossible.

Does anyone know if blu-ray adoption is going up as fast as the DVD decline? Or is the market for buying movies shrinking slowly?

I used to buy almost every DVD release. Now, think I have bought less then 10 in the past year. I am waiting for either digital distribution to improve. I've had it with re-buying my library every 10 years. That gets expensive.

B-but Diberal Distribution!

e-productwars is a site I like to use to see the general sales of each.

here's a graph of the top 25 products:

@theprof00
I don't understand that graph
Please could you explain some of it?

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

Sony is buying Viacom? People wonder why there's so much crap in the movies :(
