Back when it came out, I heard Crackdown was just a vehicle for the demo that came with it but I guess people have forgotten all about that now.

Back when InFamous came out I heard it was just a Vehicle for the Demo that came with it...But I guess people have forgotten about that now..

Uncharted on the same level as Halo confirmed

More power to the PS3 then I guess.

The Way you people talk about Uncharted anyone would think it sold more that 750k in the US

Are you saying Uncharted 2 hype can match with Halo 3 hype?

360 fans love crackdown, PS3 fans love inFamous. I'm glad we cleared that up. (Except for Richard who was neutral.)

To the op: It's an odd choice to put a Sony exclusive vs. 360 Exclusive thread in the 360 section.

As I stated, I wanted input from folks who played 'Crackdown' AND played 'Infamous.' I figured I would find more folks who played 'Crackdown' in the MS forum. And it wasn't meant to flame - just asking for opinions.

True, 'Crackdown' didn't have a real story, like 'Infamous,' but I am not a big fan of linear stuff. I spent an hour leaping around the city trying to find the next sat dish. I was like 'WHAT?!'

I really thought about 'Crackdown' when I played it, and based on the posts on this thread, I wasn't alone.

inFAMOUS is a superior game.  It actually has a plot, and a whole morality angle to it.

However, inFAMOUS is NOT Crackdown.  You have different power in it, so thus you don't jump like a maniac, or drive a car, but you do nasty damage with lightning.  And you get to heal people also for XP.  And there are submissions also.

On this note, I am VERY interested to see what Crackdown 2 will do.

Well hopefully Crackdown 2 doesn't do what you think makes inFamous a superior game to Crackdown 1.

Fuck having a plot, not every game needs a plot.  The plot of every video game ever released is somewhere between embarrassingly bad and barely tolerable.  These games are not exactly being made by Oscar Wilde or Kurt Vonnegut or David Mamet or the Coen brothers, but by a bunch of antisocial nerds who think Watchmen and the Batman movies are the epitome of quality storytelling.  I'll take games like Super Mario Galaxy and Crackdown over the usual bad video game stories any day.

Even worse would be any sort of morality angle, Crackdown 2 doesn't need to be the ten millionth game this generation with a stupid good-evil morailty dichotomy.  Quick, name every game with a good-evil morality dynamic.  I'll be back in a week to check on your progress.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

The way people talk about Killzone 2 someone might think it sold better than the 360 version of Army of Two (to a comparable userbase given when AoT was released) in the US.  The point being, I don't know, I just thought it would be a funny response.
