Forums - Gaming - How much would you pay for a PS3? Owners, nonowners

I think about 250 would be a good price for me. I can hold out.

I bought my 80GB MGS4 bundle for $499. If my PS3 were to ever break down I would buy another one for no more than $299.

399$.
thats what i paid :P

For everything that's packed into a PS3, everyone saying that they'd only buy one for under $300 are being a little irrational...at least with the cost of production the way it is now.

It's like me saying, "I would only pay $200 for a PC rig that could run Crysis on all maximum settings and also has a 2TB HDD"

no, everyone is being reasonable. Last generation the most expensive was $300. People are not used to paying $400-600 for a console. Every console prior to this generation that launched at those priced did horrible. Probably the only reason Sony got away with the $600 tag off the start is because it was a PS3 and it had Blu-Ray. Next generation, my main console will also cost sub $300 and it will probably be a Nintendo console because they are the only major competitor left that still cares about the mass market right from the start. I don't want to drop a small fortune on a gaming system.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I'd pay the price they have right now for it if they included BC and made the console a bit smaller.

I'd buy it in an instant!

$850

4000USD

When I layed that 535$ on the counter, it felt like robbery...

4 ≈ One

xbox was heavily subsided and make microsoft waste for than 6 billion.

nintendo had software to survive, micorosft only had halo (and still does) because gears is third party revenue is not as big.

they only survive because they use money from windows and their software division, which isn't great either, but they bundle it.

I'd pay $750 for that rig.

$300, which is what I paid, bought it last year when Walmart did the BluRay deal ($100 gift card for buying a bluray, which is the same as cash for me).
