Forums - Nintendo - The Grinder probably not using Pay 2 Play system

I do not care how good thee online would be, I am not paying for it.

On the topic of Monster Hunter 3, no Monster Hunter game has had Pay to Play outside Japan so I am going to assume, based on previous actions, that this game will be no different. Unless they confirm otherwise, why would you think this one would be any different?

If Monster Hunter 3 were Pay to Play online, I would pay to play it, however. I did so for Phantasy Star Online and I would for this game. Any MMO that I am interested in will definitely get my money for good online play.

Around the Network

I purposely avoid games that are pay to play, or have paid DLC. I want to pay for the game upfront and I want to know that it is the whole game. I don't want to get nickel-and-dimed for playing online or for updates that probably should have been in the game in the first place.

I don't pay for XBL, why would I pay to play Grinder? free is good, that's why I'm a PC gamer, so Grinder best be free to play.

@ Ghaude,

They haven't really given any inkling at all whether MH3 will be P2P outside of Japan, but I'm just taking the pessimistic stance, and praying that I'm wrong :P

Hardware is only a means to enjoy great games!

I'm hoping that EA will pick it up and publish it. Their online service for Wii games has been exceptional, and not a Friend Code in sight. And if you had told me years ago that I'd be hoping that EA publish a game then I would have been gobsmacked lol.

The FIFA franchise, MoH:H2 and Grand Slam Tennis have been pretty much faultless for me (although I didn't think much of FIFA 09 so it got traded in to be fair).
