Forums - Microsoft - Is Bungie shooting for the fences? Reach a graphical powerhouse?

Since when is Bungie a graphical powerhouse game maker to claim this: "join our small but high powered graphics team."

Since when? Since they made Halo 3 that is almost possible on the original xbox and doesn't use any of the 360's power and looks like shit when compared to Gears 2????

I don't think so.

OMFG SPEAK ENGLISH NOT INGLISS.

I'm pretty sure this is just standard job postig stuff. I mean, have you seen a job description like this:

" Looking for graphic designer with average experience to do an ok job on a game we hope won't dissapoint people. We aim to not dissapoint."

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... Oh dear. You have no idea do you. Halo 3 never gets credit for it's technical achievements. And mainly because the devs never went for photo realism. When you actually look at what the Halo 3 engine is capable of, you wouldn't be saying what your saying.

The game is the only game this gen to have both HDR and LDR running on 2 seperate buffers. 2 sets of resolutions. All the while having the most enemies on the screen of any current gen FPS, and all of that with split screen 4 PLAYER! And to top that further whilst the engine is doing all that it's recording the entire playthrough, every step, every shot, every movement of every human and non human player. Where you can pause freely move the camera completely around the level.

Hmmmm Bungie gave us the best FPS this gen, such an amazing game. And they didn't compromise the games quailty ( features, gameplay) for the sake of having photorealistic graphics. They stuck to the Halo artistry. Thank god.

However Halo Reach can essentially be different in looks, as it's not directly associated with MC. So they could just do a KZ2 killer, change the engine. Have no split screen multiplayer, 15 - 20 less enemies on screen, no game recording, only one buffer instead of 2. They could then use all that power to make the best looking game ever. But then again, I'd rather the gameplay be more than Halo 3 not less. We dont want the series to go backwards now.

ODST looks considerably better than Halo3, and looks like they have upped the resolution already to.

Halo Reach will be twice ODST visuals but with even more features that the engine has to cope with.

Hmm, that is true. didn't think about that.  I still say its gonna be a very good looking game.

Wonder what project  they are hiring the dude for?

@ Keep_the_Change
Really guy....Really? It's obvious that Bungie Wants some one tried and true...And if you don't think the Halo games raised the Bar?....Well it's your Opinion...so whatever

@Carl
A PS3 Exclusive?...Yeah what are you going to say next that FFXIII will be Multiplat?....
Oh wait.....

@ymega1n
It could have been for Halo :Reach Pre E3...Post E3..Not likely but It could still be....I say not likely because the Reach beta which will come with a Bunch of Halo 3 stuff is later this year...The Window of time for hiring most likely does not align...I say it could still be...Because I don't work at Bungie.

Halo was a graphical powerhouse last gen.

How quickly people forget...

Anybody that doesn't think Halo Reach will set a high standard for graphics just isn't being reasonable.

But, as has been mentioned, I'm sure this is for something else. If HR is coming in 2010, the engine is most likely just about done. This is for FUTURE Bungie projects. You all know there are other non-Halo things coming, right?
