Go deal with the fallout of it afterwards I a guarantee you will change your tune. Rape is rape. It is a devastating experience for just about everyone who goes through it. The reason men are seen as not being emotionally affected is because it is seen as more shameful for them to admit to it.

You want to joke about a serious situation, well go for it. Everyone copes or deals with life in their own way. I am personally a huge fan of making light of serious situations. I just won't sit back and watch people make patently false claims like date rape isn't that bad, or raping a guy can't cause any physical trauma. You really need to read my posts a little closer before you try and go off on me. Half of what you said is non-sense because it has nothing to do with anything I have posted.

And I am helping sick people as we speak.

I didn't say date rape wasn't bad. But if it offends you that I joke about this, then I'm sorry, because it wasn't my intention to offend anyone. I just wanted to have a laugh here and the thread was one with a joke connotation. I'm telling this again, I'm not making fun of the people, but of the situation. I know many men could suffer from a rape by a woman, but the chances are too low and many times it won't even be considered rape. For those cases where the damage (emotional and physical) is severe, then of course I would be making a side note on top of the joke.

10% of rapists are women (or pedophiles, I forget). I want to see some actual PROOF for your other statements or I would assume your are making assumptions based on your own thinking habits.

I am not offended by the joke. I am offended by the implication that date rape isn't bad. Saying its not terrible because they were asleep does imply that date rape is ok. If that wasn't your intention then this whole thing is just a misunderstanding.

The last numbers I saw were that for every 10 women that were raped, 3 men were. This involves a little guess work though. The reported cases are 10:1 but it is known that men are much much less likely to report a rape case.

It's being taken as a joke because nothing bad happened to any of the people involved (Come on people always joke on how there's no female rapists around). Worst thing is they got to have sex (which they would have anyways had she not put them to sleep) and they dont remember about it. In this thread, our sexism plays a large role in our perception of this. We perceive the male to not be emotionally affected by this, and we validate our thoughts through our stereotypes. We then assume it is okay to make jokes about this. I even detect a hint of sexism in your post.

Do you want to think of another reason for the jokes?

Women tend to be more emotionally offended by sexual crimes than men, that's true. I never said they may or may not have been traumatized for the rest of their lives, but I'm not making fun of these guys per se. Most of the times someone makes a joke it's about a situation, without taking into account the people. I don't even know who these guys are. Just relax and laugh a bit. I know rape is a crime and an inmoral thing to do, but the last guy's comments were funny, even he took it lightly.

The world is full of unfair people, there's nothing we can do about it. Sooner or later they get what they deserve. Dare you ever take justice on your own hands for every single unfair act and you will become even more unfair than them. There was no sexism in my post by the way. Jokes are jokes and most of the times involve making fun of an absurd situation.

Everybody gets what they deserve, huh? Sorry to obliterate your fantasy, but there isn't an almighty punishment for those people. Not everything has a happy ending.

That's an old say, I don't believe that everyone will ever get everything back some way or another, and not by luck, but by other people's actions in reaction to theirs. I'm saying you can't achieve world peace and morality by your own. If you want go ahead, keep on living in that small world of yours.

It is not a small world I live in. There is evil unchecked in this world. Despicable horrid that will go unaffected.  Bad things happen to good people. Good things happen to bad people. You want to entertain the notion that everything will be punished and rewarded. It won't be! You want to believe that all will be merry and dandy. If you do, keep thinking so. It is your life.

Also, considering the cases of the other nine, he was physically affected equally and many men have not reported rape or filed charges due to embarassment because of rampant stereotypes.

I'm sure that's what happens most of the times, that's why criminals are not on jails, but good, normal people are. That's why war crimes never get revised and you can see dictators along with corrupted war generals walking the streets, mutilating people at will. Dont you f***ing tell me that there's nothing being done against the unfair people because that's not true. Of course there's some people that end up avoiding the punishments for their acts, but those just die escaping and running away, and very emotionally hit. If they dont suffer of guilt then they were most probably suffering of a mental pathology. Only psychotic people are free of guilt after a perverse or malicious act.
