Good news to me! I have a b/c PS3 but it would be nice to have PS2 games on the store to download. Say FFX maybe?

After re-reading the article again, that's huge. That would really motivate PS2 owners to upgrade - and toss their PS2. Wow - great move if true. I'd buy a 40gb immediately if this comes to pass.

European 60 GB PS3s emulate the Emotion Engine since March 2007, the problem is with the Graphic Synthesizer, the GPU of the PS2 that is inside the 60 GB Euro SKU but not in the new models.

I hope they fix it so you can play American games on a European console. That would make my day.

If this will be included in Firmware 3.0... then omg can't wait.

may make getting a ps3 worthwhile. don't have to get rid of my games.

This could be interesting, especially if the rumored PS3 slim makes an appearance by the end of the year.
