Damn he sold all that and all those games because of 1 trophy? Jesus show some thick skin dont just brake like paper....

Actually 2 trophies, the Gold Trophy for beating it on Hard and the Platinum Trophy for getting all other trophies.  I can understand the frustration but he went a little too far with his reaction

Yes it frustrating i can imagine that. Giving up on gaming because of one glitch or mistake is just pathetic really. His reaction was embarrasing.

"no patience for crap like this"

"so after almost 30 years... I'm done"

You would have thought that your house got reposessed or something.

When I looked that the trophy in question it states that you need to beat the ENTIRE game on hard so I knew if it was on Medium for even a second I would not get the trophy. I even asked a fellow VGchartz member on how to make sure the game starts on hard.

Hmmm the guy is Canadian...probably this is what canadians do when they're pissed instead of going on a rampage killing people like (pissed-off-with-life) Americans do? lol...

@OP... you're right son! instead of taking it out on the world you do that...oh, and stay put (in your country) and right were you are, help is coming (dialing 1800-MENTAL)

yea i did the same as insomniac, set it on hard then started a new game, and its not like hard is that bad, it gets tough but for the most part if ur being evil its mostly coasting along, lol its harder for me to get some of them stupid stunts than the hard mode trophy

If there is no clear information what to do for the hard trophy is is the games fault. Changing the save game difficulty to hard before starting a new game is not intuitive. Having to wait for the game to prompt for you to increase the difficulty is also not intuitive. If this is not explained clearly in the game it can surely be frustrating. I can understand that. Sell the game, hate the devs, but what's your problem with the system? Do you believe other systems don't have these things ever? A little naive for an older person no?

I could see selling the system because you were stuck on 349 blast shards for 10 hours, but not for this. The blast shards collection is just tedious and painful, I got the gold for completing on Hard on my first play through. I swear I had a tear in my eye when the Rockhound trophy popped up.

Heres a good tip if you need to get a lot of xp after the game without any missions left. Go to the Historic District near the "Alden" bridge. 5 First Sons always spawn under the train tracks. Melee all 5 enemies and then jump in the water. You will respawn at the med-clinic a block a way. You get 15xp per kill + 5 xp for melee finisher + 50 xp for up close and personal. That's 150 xp in 45 seconds. Note, you need to change the difficulty to Easy to get this xp, you get much less xp on Hard. Second note, don't change your difficulty until you get your hard finisher trophy.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

...Huh. Well, can't agree with your reasons, but more power to you.

Have you already sold your PS3 or is that up in the air? How much are you looking to get?

You have to set it to hard mode first! After you do that, you have to start a new game AGAIN from the save data screen. When you do that, it should be on hard mode, you can just check. That's how I got the trophy through the first playthrough.

Just switch to hard as soon as the game starts, then start a new game.

So many different responses, some rude, some not ect. No, I am not selling my PS3. I was on little sleep and overeacted. For sure. But it surprises me that some people don't understand why I was angry, or saying crap like " You only play to get trophies! DUUUR, dat's dumb!" As I said, I played through Hard, as well as looking for the shards to get a trophy or two. That's alot of time to be denied my goal. It was my third playthrough. I went back again and did it on hard, letting the game switch to hard automatically. It worked, I got what I wanted. But what a stupid and arbitrary thing to have to do. Switching to hard manually nerfs the trophy? So lame....
