Well the first time was mostly a 'can't read PS1/2 discs' problem instead of a death, but this time my PS3 got the fatal YLOD during the Warhawk league - I didn't quit because my team was losing :p. My PS3 was sent to be repaired last month, and now I have to send it back again. This totally sucks. If you own a 60GB, back up your saves and whatnot.

On the bright side, my PS3 is still under the 90 day repair warranty; the repair/exchange center is in my city, so it shouldn't take too long - it took four days to send it and get it back. This PS3 death also gives me time to finish that terrible game called Star Ocean IV. Man, last week totally sucked .

three in three weeks...and all of them 60GB. Tis a sad day when one's console breaks.

i've been hearing many people have problems with the 60G PS3 lately.  really need to backup my saves.

Upon a few minutes after turning on my PS3, it would get really loud. It was extremely loud yesterday, and it lead to its death. Good thing I backed my saves that morning. I would've cried if I had to go through Xenosaga II again.

i heard people are saying 60GB PS3 has the same laser diode for BD and DVD. playing PS2 games on your PS3 may potentially cut your PS3 life a bit shorter. but again, if you don't play PS2 games, what's the advantage of owning the 60GB version.... @_@

Damnit, maybe mine is next. I better go and finish DDS2 so the disc doesn't get stuck in there when my 60gb bites the dust.

hmmmmmmmmmmm....its almost like 60GB are programmed to fail in 09...( mine YLOD in Jan )
