LOL... omg I got called a fanboy for the first time.

I think i'm just down to earth... and sorry I missed the Simpsons as a system seller for the PS3.

If people DONT think that The Simpsons game is going to be huge then you're just not looking at the picture clearly.

Mario & Sonic just adds fuel to the already burning Wii sales and Smash and Mario bring in so many Nintendo fans its not funny... Galaxy especially brings more of a system seller position than Smash.

You can call me a fanboy all your want, that is how the market is reacting at the moment...

I'm happy to take a big dose of Crow if I'm wrong but I'm more right about this than other people listing off long crappy lists.

And Link's Crossbow is right on the edge of being a system seller, but I think it's just another final nail in the coffin for the casual user...

Sorry but everyone seems to forget about,

CoD4 , Haze, UT3, R&C:FToD, Uncharted.. and a few other minor titles. This a long with a new price drop and possibly other un-announced news can bring up sales for the PS3 drastically.

Sony aint selling anything with its god awful marketing campaign. The Heavenly sword campaign is a good step in the right direction, but you gotta show more in game to get people going. Being a wii60 guy I envy people with ps3s cause of Warhawk, and I havent seen one commercial for that great game. Perhaps they will try with R&C but I still doubt them.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

This is true. In my local Best Buy, they are still showing Genji trailers.

==> PGR4
Halo3 just released
MAss Effect
Lost Odyssey
Ace Combat6

I dont know how it will end but I feel their exclusive seem better.

But I agree that the PS3 line-up is NOT weak

And I consider the PS3 line-up, for a NON NINTENDO FAN, is better than the Wii line-up.

Ummmmm ... the complete GTAIV experience, according an R* employee.

The strong lineup of UTIII, Haze and the like - I really don't see any of those moving consoles. Look at past threads - maybe I am wrong, but didn't folks say 'Just wait ... HS, Lair and Warhawk are SYSTEM SELLERS! They will move systems!' Where? Around a warehouse? From one side of Best Buy to another?

Ok ... how many systems will Solid Snake move? We'll see. Sorry, but it's not even in the same league as Halo 3. And the rest of the lineup? Basically, folks are touting the Sony lineup as the Yankees, but they wouldn't get out of the single A minors ... and even with their lineup, are folks gonna buy games? LOL ... name one ... just one PS3 title that's hit a million ... just one ... PM me when you find one ...

The 360 lineup? Mass Effect, PGR4, Fable 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, Lost Odyessy, Too Human, Halo Wars, GTAIV episodic content and tons of games on both systems - DMC4, COD4, Ace Combat 6 ... head to head is gonna rock ...

The $399 PS3 will dupe more folks into buying it ... and when they come home, realize there's no Wii Sports in it ... and they can only play 2/3rd of their PS2 games on it ... they'll scream bloody murder.

I'm a reformed Sony fanboy who has seen the light.

 I haven't forgotten about those....

COD has never been a HUGE selling game... it's not really a system selling series either.  I think COD4 will be huge but it's a multiplatform game so it's NOT a system selling draw card SORRY.  I'm anticipating this game HUGE right now... but I'll be buying the PC version.

Haze - looks okay, but its definitely got no system selling power.  It advances the range of software on the PS3 but it's not a big enough game and I expect it to not sell overly well... current PS3 owners will love it though

UT3 is multiplatform again... i'll be getting the PC version for sure... updated graphics on UT99 levels?? PHUCK YEAH but there is no way i'm getting a PS3 for it and it's home isn't necessarily on PS3.. timed exclusive or not.

Ratchet and Clank... for sony fans its a great game to list, for people who don't own a next gen console yet... do they choose Mario Galaxy or Ratchet and Clank? I know what i'd choose... I bet you I know which a larger majority of people choose too.

Uncharted has great graphics but I can already see it being underwhelming in sales... Just like I predicted the LAIR bomba I'm pretty certain that Uncharted isn't going to set the house on fire... It will sell quite well because it's going to be a much better game than LAIR but if Heavenly Sword is only selling as much as it is then what chance does Uncharted have to do so much better? It isn't going to move hardware.

No one understands how the market works.

No one considers that a majority of gamers buy not many games a year... 1 - 5 not 5 per month...

The hardcore gamers mostly have bought a console already.

For Microsoft they are now jumping on board for Halo... that game is a massive system selling game without a shadow of a doubt.

The games on PS3 are great to extend the library for already owners who have found the value in the console... they aren't the type of game that is going to prompt the more mass market to buy the console.

People talk about lineup strengths...

Personally for me I think the lineup on PC is best for me for the rest of the year... that's the STRONGEST lineup from a gamers sense.

And YES maybe the lineup on PS3 and Xbox360 have more better games than Wii, but all I'm saying is from a mass market perspective and a SALES perspective as this is a SALES thread on a SALES website the Wii has the best christmas lineup - perhaps in the history of games... its an unstoppable lineup.

For those people that might by 2 or 3 games a year... they get a Wii with Sports, Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros... that is going to convince a PHUCK load of people to buy. Just watch.

Is it me or do others think that Uncharted will be the best game (ratings) that won't sell systems?

I'll take the case!!!

What are you saying that they spen all the money they made from the ps1 and the ps2?

No your wrong to that degree. It is worth the drop, more ps3's= more software sold. Which equals less of a loss in the long term. Not only that but it will drasticly increase there role in this generation of gaming consoles.

Yes, yes they have.  Or atleast it's extremely likely.  Most companys HATE having money freed up and spend it right away to buy assets.  It's how pretty much every company and investment firm works.  Companies usually don't have massive amounts of money just sitting in banks.

If the company needs unexpected money they usually take out loans or sell off assets to get it.

The only person I know that keeps a lot of open cash is Warren Buffet.  Which is why i like the guy so much.

You'll learn more though when you actually take an economics class.
