No, it is not good to have a console selling at below average levels. And don't say "compared to the 360" because it is still selling below average no matter how you phrase it.

Its going to happen.

With Unreal, Uncharted, Rachet and Clank, Haze, and a few other AAA titles coming... it seems it all fits into a plan they have. Its obvious once 08' hits their will be a steady flow of games.. Maybe they are just trying to gain some ground again and then burst? I am not sure but seeing as this is Sony.. they will not make the most logical move.

People underestimate Sony as a whole company.. they will not need to sell an excess amount of software to regain the losses.. the Blu-Ray is part of their plan... the more Blu-Rays they sell the better it is for them.. it means more gaming software and movie sales go up.. In the end they will profit enormously if this plan of theirs is correctly executed.

Nintendo has the best lineup this christmas... people sprout out game lists WAYYY too much and honestly... most of the games in the list are mostly irrelevant.

If people DONT think that The Simpsons game is going to be huge then you're just not looking at the picture clearly.

Mario & Sonic just adds fuel to the already burning Wii sales and Smash and Mario bring in so many Nintendo fans its not funny... Galaxy especially brings more of a system seller position than Smash.

And Link's Crossbow is right on the edge of being a system seller, but I think it's just another final nail in the coffin for the casual user...

I could see Sony doing this, especially with the weak lineup but I wonder what they really would accomplish in the end? The PS3 will still be the most expensive system, it won't even be close to the impulse buy price, the PS3 will probably never turn a profit with this price drop and worst of all Sony could more effectively kill HD-DVD by producing a low cost movie player that directly targets movie buffs than by slashing the PS3 price which while it is the most sold blu-ray player doesn't have a great movie attachment ratio.

I dont know WTF people are saying with weak line up. It has one of the best line ups. UT3!!, HAZE, UNCHARTED, R&C, and tons more!!
