How is this new to Wii Sports? =/
I forgot to ask what probably is a really dumb question: does it have online for leaderboards or something?
I don't find anywhere saying it have but I don't find saying that it doesn't, so...
Good to see positive impressions. I'm keenly anticipating the game and looking forward to its release.
I still remember a picture of boxart with content may change online? What was that about?
Nintendo make no sense at all, they want people online but they don't have online for their biggest Wii franchise.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
No online is a great disappointment. The game is best played with several people. An online mode would have made that so much easier to do.

But i thought it was hinted at having some sort of online functionality? Guess that was just an error.
But i think that this game is exactly what Malstrom spoke of. More motion controls with a lot of content behind them. Just because the game is creatively a "safe mode" game (capitalizing on IP success), this game is also what is going to push Wii forward, not just in terms of controls, but in terms of depth

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
No online??!! Wow!!! What the heck is Nintendo's problem?

Well, that's what you get for basing expectations on a vague term like "1:1" without working out exactly what you mean and how it could be achieved.
It is all 1:1 really - always has been.
- Wii remote gives 1:1 acceleration and because of gravity 1:1 orientation to the z=0 plane.
- WM+ gives 1:1 orientation in 3-space through giros, though they do need calibrating from time to time.
So now you got that you want 1:1 position in 3-space? Well, half a moments thought will tell you that WM+ can't do that, because it doesn't have the tech. It can't tell the difference between you sticking your arm out sideways and you taking a step sideways - how could it? (Well, it can get part way there through the IR pointer technology if you are using it to point (as used in Okami and Elebits)).
But don't start saying that Nintendo always promised whatever 1:1 you now want - because they didn't.
