No way, Dualshocks are very brittle. The layout would be good on the outside, but the guts of the controller are too frail and light.  The analogs would hit the dust on that thing too, like almost every one of my DS-controllers.

The 360 triggers are good, but I'd prefer one with a 'click' once it reaches the limit after being pressed down. 360 LB/RB buttons are terrbile.

And I have the feeling SixAxis should never be explored........again.

To add extra, VMU USB port (like the Dreamcast) for Madden exclusively. I don't like people reading my plays.

Six-axis is a good concept... if its not over used.

Its use in KZ2, for example... is good.

The "click" like on the gamecube triggers? That was terrible.

360 shape
360 (bottom) triggers
pressure sensitive buttons like in sonys dualshock3
gamecubes shaped buttons, lima bean, big a and little b

the dualshocks all hurt my hands after about an hour

Oh, hell no. Those were bad. I felt like they could've broken at any second, and at moments may not have been truly working at all. I don't remember any controllers with a good 'click', but I would want something like that in a new one.

What you do is this:

1. Start with the Wavebird controller.

2. Finish.

--------

More seriously though.... I think my personal top dog controller would involve using a Wavebird (though it would be linked to the console without the need for the plug in thing)

So:
1. Wavebird

2. Use the Dual Shock layout for the shoulder buttons.... 2 top ones are standard digital, two bottom ones are analogue triggers, but they have the GC controllers clickable base.

3. Also use the Dual Shock clickable control sticks just as extra functions if needed.

4. Replace the good GameCube d-pad with excellent the N64 d-pad (otherwise known as enlarge it)

5. Finish.... I have now made the ultimate old style controller.

I'm not gonna lie, the GC controller DID have the most comfortable shape... Also, the SNES/360's colored buttons were great
