Forums - PC - Starcraft 2 beta possibly starting Monday

http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=18031367411&sid=3000

Babykarune:

Clues:

"Cause I know, according to SC2 wiki, attendees of the event in Cologne (guessing that's in France) will get to play the beta build of SC2, meaning it may already be ready. The event lasts from the 26-28, making Monday, the 29th perfect.

Also it has been 50 days since Opt-in

Also, there was the NDA for the thing on Monday, which ends this Monday. Supposed to be a blizzard press conference too

On the Blizzard website they took down advertising for SC2 beta opt-in, meaning something else is to come

Blizzard has been awfully quiet lately, except the BR3, but otherwise no blue news for a bit.

It's officially summer, the planned time of beta

Chris Sagaty said we aren't even "quarters away" and blizzard's fiscal quarter is ending soon.

All in all I will be very surprised if beta is not Monday or sometime next week. Here's hopin"

The odds are about 1 in 20. It really depends on your computer setup though. If you have a computer with specs that aren't ordinary or mainstream, you have a much better chance. Good luck everyone.

Cologne is in Germany.

Holy Shit! Sign me up!

Pixel Art can be fun.

Makes me sad. I could never get the beta form to work for me. :( Oh well, I probably wouldn't have got in anyway. I'm just looking forward to some good Battlereports.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

I think I'm going to start doing my own battlereports man, that looks like a lot of fun.

@snes
Yes thank you, the poster is obviously too involved in video games to pay attention to the world.

@smokedhostage
Go to battle.net and sign up for it. You'll need a blizzard game cd key to register a game. Then click on beta profile settings. It will scan your computer devices, hurry up though, it's almost time, they will be taking it down soon.

I don't know how much you were into the old Starcraft but there used to be a site (probably still around actually) called battlereports.com that was nothing but replays and battlereports. Before Starcraft got patched for replays the reports were all just text and screenshots and it was a real artform to making one. Good times.

yeah I used to check that out all the time, but it was a pain to set up everything. I loved commentaries of the pro games, they blew my mind. I'm a really good speaker so I think I could bring a lot to the arena.

I hope you do. Those pro battle reports are awesome. I hope they keep doing those once the game is officially out.

Also, I went back and tried one more time and the beta program miraculously worked on my computer! Happy days, now I can be even more disapointed when I'm not accepted into the beta!
