Forums - Sony - Will Sony ever make money off of PS3 hardware sales?

Sony will make money from the console starting sometime
in 2010. by then blu-ray players will be cheaper to make

I think the Blu-Ray laser has already had most of it's costs reduced.

PS3s were originally estimated to cost about $850 to produce or something.... and the blu-ray laser and the CELL were two of the most expensive things at like $150 each.... both those have been reduced considerably (probably like $20 for both or something) they can't be reduced as significantly as they already have been.

The PS3 is on a ten year plan. Of course it's not supposed to lose money forever.

This.

that

These.

Those

....Them!

4 ≈ One

Maybe around this time next year sony will start to make a small profit off of each ps3 they sell

End of 2016 prediction

PS4:43M-46M

XBONE:28M-33M

When new chips roll in, the system will be $100 dollars cheaper to make, and with the slim, maybe about $5. So when the Slim comes out at $299.99, Sony could be making about $3 per console, and about $110 per PSP Go, very good position to be in.

Let's just put it this way:

Sony will have lost more money on the PS3 than they have earned.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Is that just a random guess or does it have some basis.

It has no basis.

Tease.

well its not like it's a huge problem.
microsoft it's 7 billion in the hole.
just they have money from other business.

So Sony will have a price cut of $50 and then reduce costs with Slim version of $50 erm no to the question lol
