You make a good point. I just believe that the majority of halo fans who are/were going to buy a 360 did when Gears of War came out, then nearly all of those who were still 360-less did so last week and this week. The final 2% that needed an excuse to buy a 360 for Halo 3 will not push its hardware number above Wii anymore.
I said before that halo will do 3.5m in software in its first two weeks. But, I only expect 300k in hardware. That, difference tells me that my theory of halo's affect on hardware is pretty accurate. Otherwise I would expect to see a much higher ratio. |
hum true.... but you have other factors... people might wait halo 3 plus falcon... or halo 3 plus falcon plus reports that the RRoD is gone with it..... without talking about the one waiting for christmas bundles and get halo 3 or the kids who didn't want it last year for X reason but now that halo is there and they have seen it at a friend or are just victims of the ubber marketing around it want one for christmas.. all those factors... will spread the attach rate number over more than 2 weeks... and probably do bumps in the system until december......
so you are right and mrstickball is too... we'll see the after effect of halo 3 for a while... it's like after an earthqake :) you get the picture ???
