Ok, we all know, or you should by now know that Nintendo is going to erase our points standing as Gold or Platinum coming up soon and start everyone over, at least in NA.  They are suppose to be giving some reward for Gold and Platinum members, which I am platinum when they do this.  Well, I was thinking, if I am going to lose my points, then I better spend them, but if I spend them, will I lose my Platinum status and then not get whatever Nintendo is going to send out?  What should I do.  I think I have like 900 points or more.

You won't lose your points, only the status.

yeah the status is independent from the points, the status is earned annually based upon the number of points earned and ends with the reward, you'll still have your points, but you lose your status points,
so you'll have ~900 point and 0 elite status points

so I will still be platinum even if I spend those points, because it is based on reaching those point marks, not on the number of points you currently have. Does that make sense. So if I earned 200 points, then spent them the next week and did that 4 time for 8 weeks, I would have 0 points, but still be considered platinum because I earned 800 points?

yes, exactly, it is based on the total number of points you earned, not on the amount in your account

Only your status resets. You just need 600 (that was the plat number, right?) more coins again to regain it. The whole status thing is yearly.

You coins will stay unless you spend them on stuff.

Like say for example:

I have 610 coins, I reached Platinum (but you really needed just 600)

Status resets in July. I'm regular now, but I still have my 610 coins. So what do I do to reach Platinum?

Earn 600 more coins. I'll be Platinum again. (And my total would be 1210 coins lol)

coins disappear after a couple years though, so watch yourself

you only lose points, not your platinum membership (im platinum too). however you do lose your status at the end of this month, but keep all your points.
