Forums - Microsoft - Xbox moves into classroom as learning tool

Not sure how much education you can get from whacking a pinata with a shovel.... VP isn't even good enough for sex ed, doing a dance does not = baby in real life.

I would have thought something like Tetris or those brain training games (or even Prof layton) would have been more beneficial (and more practical) than VP.

I'm going to not go out on a limb to say you've never really played the game

My city? WTF are they doing in my city?!?! We HAD AN AGREEMENT!! Microsoft said they would leave my city alone if I helped them conquer everywhere else!

I am betrayed...

Tease.

We should let kids play visual novels in order to encourage reading! (as long as they're age restricted versions of course...)

Sounds like it was a group activity and VP was just a convenient game for them to perform that task. I would not read to much into what game was chosen. VP shovel whacking aside is a safe game for the school to have used with a steady progression that they could monitor and record.

What I need to know is was this on the Teachers expenses... (UK Joke and not even funny any more).

VP teaches you a lot of the things you need to learn as a adult.  It's really amazing how some children really can jump in the game and just bury themselves.  The ones who do well have a natural sense of trouble shooting problems and creating solutions.

I let my kids play the lego games on the Xbox because it helps with problem solving and teamwork. The problem solving they have got better with the teamwork is still work in progress.

Don't you remember? They scrapped that agreement, and made a new one with Chris Pine. They just agreed to stay out of Boston, so you could move there!

Why not let your kid go on a few raids, eh?

You can be a consumer and be mindful... like researching a product and buying the best suited one for you, rewarding companies that make products that appeal to you (and possibly the majority).
