Hey everyone,

I'm currently debating whether to get a PS3, in time of course I will have one. I just have such a bad taste in my mouth from Sony last generation (multiple PS2 problems).... it just makes me worry. On the other hand, I did never had a problem with Nintendo or Xbox, hence the reason why I bought an Xbox 360 (I waited though till the 175 w / falcon mother board), and also purchasing a Wii. Personally, I feel you never have to worry with Nintendo launch products (my launch N64 still works to this day... and I still play it too! ) So overall, when do you think I should buy a PS3? I just don't want to worry again like I did last generation. I am also holding off since I have been hearing more problems with the PS3 YLOD and other general hardware issues.

Well, it sounds like if you don't get a 60GB model, you should be fine.

the Ps3 YLOD is common in the 60 GB model. but on other models its low.

they don't make 60 GB models anymore so you would be fine.

whats wrong with the 60 gig? i have it oft 2 years and 5 months nothing wrong with it.

Where's this 60GB nonsense coming from? Even if true, it's most likely because they have been around longer than others - It's not like Sony really changed how they produced the console after the 60GB.

Not you again! there have been 2 thread in the last two weeks from two different people, about their PS3's getting YLOD. Your personal experiance means nothing here as it has happened to other people and the OP doesn't want it to happen to him.

Never asked about your Xbox experience. Only PS3. Please, read more clearly. It's not that hard.

Since the fail rate of PS3 is way lower than XBOX360, you should be fine.
