And unfortunatly, it won't get much better as the majority is forced to continue to use last century's copper.
Australian's voted for that by supporting the Coalitions mandate.
With that in mind... If you want better Broadband in Australia the only real choice is to move closer to a Telephone exchange and hope to hell you have Chime or Agile DSLAM hardware, I'm lucky enough to get both a short distance and Agile hardware.
But, that only affects connection speed.
If you wan't lower latency and dedicated servers and better throughput then your only choice is really Internode and iiNet. - Although Internode is owned by iiNet now, but operate seperate networks and the owner of Internode is now part of NBN Co so hopefully he pushes for Fibre.
With that in mind you also get the advantage of downloads from Xbox Live and Steam being data free, so if you're a big gamer you can benefit greatly.

I use Verizon connection,
I never had any complaints. For me
Download speed-20.047mbps
Upload speed-6.043mbps
I checked my internet speed using http://www.scanmyspeed.com/
What do you think about my internet speed?
I've only had experience with DSL and Comcast. I'll say that Comcast is better for the price.
Kind of pointless to post but whatever. Your best bet is to get Google Fiber, but you have to be living in a specific area to be qualified.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
You mean besides Google Fiber?
Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.
Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
