Yep the Xbox 360 is more wanted:
$299 + 6x$50 (Live) + $200 (Blu Ray) + 2x$20 (Play n Charge for two) +40 (controller) + $80 (Wireless) = $960
vs
$399 + $45 (controller) = $444
So you see the PS3 is half the price of the Xbox 360 and yet the Xbox 360 totally pwns the PS3 in spite of the PS3 being almost half the cost!!! So you see how much people desire the awesome which is the Xbox 360? Sony really is desperate, they probably think that if the PS3 is close to 1/3rd the cost of the Xbox 360 ($299) it might outsell it.

That's pretty much how it goes on gaming forums, the 360 is twice the price of the PS3 if someone asks which console is the better value, and the 360 is half the price of the PS3 if someone asks why it's selling better.
If that was really the case, you might think a bunch of casual mommies were buying the "cheap" Arcade at $199 for their kids, while all the well informed hardcore gamers were buying the "better value" PS3... until you looked at their respective attach rates.
We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai
It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps
We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick
