i guess it would just feel weird using nunchuk trigger to shoot

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I don't have the game yet, but this is what I think I will go for regarding button mapping: (can't say for sensitivity and such till I try it)

Mapping:

A:                              Jump
B:                              Shoot
C:                              Zoom
Z:                              Target Lock

D-Up:                        "Spin"
D-Down:                    Crouch
D-Left:                       Switch Weapon
D-Right:                     Next Grenade

+:                              Pause
-:                               Reload/Pickup
1:                              ASE
2:                              Scores (MP only)

Shake Nunchuck :     Throw Grenade
Thrust Wiimote :        Melee

Top 4 are priority controls set to the buttons with immediate access, the d-pad does weapon changing and additional movement controls (I may swap spin and crouch depending on which is needed the most... I suspect if I can set it up correctly I won't need spin barring exceptional circumstances, so crouch takes precedent on the d-down) Then the non-priority controls fit the lower Wii remote buttons, with reload on the minus button as it is easy to access. Finally the motion based attacks fit where intended. Oh, and target lock and zoom could be swapped too, again depending on which seems most important fitting on the Z-trigger... I would guess target lock is a holding button, while zoom is a click on/off feature so it is better for target to be on the Z-trigger.

Although didn't someone mention you can't set crouch to toggle? if so then I may swap that with zoom instead (so target lock still on Z, Zoom on d-down and crouch on c-button)

I put a stocking over my head (like the ones in old movies when they rob a bank) go straight to the nearest player and scream into wiispeak:

This is a robbery now transfer all your money to me bitch !!!

Sadly I have yet to see a cent from this enterprise.

Oh shit wrong thread ;)

This is the button layout...I'll keep the rest secret for that EDGE!!! =D

A: Crouch
B: Shoot
D-Up: Switch Grenades
D-Down: 180 Turn
D-Left: Zoom
D-Right: Switch Weapons
+: Reload
-: ASE
1: Pause
2: Scores (MP only)
C: Jump
Z: Crouch
Shake Nunchuck : Throw Grenade
Thrust Wiimote : Melee

Target Lock is missing

Any tips for the Dead Zone? Or sensitivity? I adjusted the Dead Zone to the minimum and found it to work really well. But I'm not sure if I like it more than Default.

Wii Friend Code: 4268-9719-1932-3069

A: Melee
B: Shoot
D-Up: Switch Grenades
D-Down: Jump
D-Left: Reload
D-Right: Switch Weapon
+: ASE
-: Zoom
1: Pause
2: Scores (MP only)
C: Crouch
Z: Lock on
Shake Nunchuck : Throw grenade
Thrust Wiimote : 180 spin (I rarely use it but it works surprisingly well)

I originally stuck with the defaul controls for awhile and it worked alright for me on single player, but I found that with multiplayer using melee for bash is really ineffective and throws off my aimer, usually resulting in a death when I'm in a heated battle. So I switched melee to A button and I've been doing a lot better. I also find that zooming with select is a little easier than using the down arrow, and I moved switch grenades to the up button since I rarely use that function anyway. The only thing that is a little awkard for me is reload as the left D-pad, but it was sort of the odd one out since I couldn't really find a better spot to put it without messing something else up even worse.

I didn't quite end up with this.... I did indeed swap zoom and crouch, but also swapped ASE and pause.

I think I may swap ASE with something again though... possibly swpping around the melee attack and zoom (so ASE goes to the motion control, then zoom and melee between the d-down and + buttons)

I will post my full setup later... as t could still be in tweaking process.

Ok... I don't think it will be changing much from what I have now (maybe minor tweaks increasing turning speed, but nothing else)
I made a number of changes to the button mapping from what I had previously, though I keep shoot/jump/target-lock/crouch set to B,A,C,Z
