Forums - Nintendo - The Conduit Controls, What do you think?

Just finished SP, did my customization during the start of lvl one and finished tweaking after about 10 minutes in.

It's confirmed, the Wiimote is the best console FPS control and closest to a mouse setup on a PC atm, the precision is dictated by the player of course just like any control, but I can't remember the last time I was able to turn that fast in a console FPS and maintain accuracy on shooting at mouse speed while jumping and crouching in midair(that'd be never btw, not to mention the backstep shooting was just the kick ass.) I hope all future shooters on Wii will base their controls off The Conduit, because that's a high bar for me now when it comes to FPS control on consoles.

Next step is of course online, we'll see what happens -_^b

Please share you experiences! =D and I also urge people to finish SP before going online so you can get used to the controls, and please don't play Guard mode =X go at least one difficulty higher!

If it weren't for them being so Amazing I probably would have only rented the conduit and thought of it as an average game. Because they were so amazing though, I think for me personally it is the best console fps just because I can enjoy the controls(something I can never enjoy with Dual Analog because of playing FPS on PC first). I'm almost done with the game and already can't wait for a sequel(hopefully longer).

The customizable controls are fantastic. You could spend hours making them perfect.

Yeah I agree. I grew up playing PC FPS and simply can't stand the looseness of dual analog. This is the first time I've truly gotten that mouse feel out of a console game (after adjusting the controls) and I'm loving it.

Love the controls.  I still feel my setup could use a bit of tweaking but it is really better than dual analog.  I still will play KZ2 and CoD on my PS3 but I really like the way this game handles.  Also, I like the retro feel.  It brings back memories of playing Perfect Dark/Bond/Turok 64 with my friends in high school.

The controls and customization of them are THE best thing about the Conduit. Its like BUTTER WRAPPED IN BACON. I am still halfway through SP so I am holding off judging the gameplay. It is annoying that I cant look all the way up or all the way down. Is there a setting for this? Sucks cause sometimes when you are zoomed in you cant really move you view up or down so you have to unzoom and point then zoom again.

Havent played MP yet. Looking forward to it.

Yes. Controller Options > Sensitivity

For the people who've played it, how highly do you recommend it?

I'm not the biggest FPS fan, but loved the Halo games, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and BioShock. The MP trilogy are also favourites of mine, but mainly because of the adventure elements.

Apart from the controls, what stands out in the single player?

They are the best controls I have ever experienced for an FPS, EVER, including PC.

If you have a Wii, GO BUY IT NOW.

Im a MoHH2 veteran, so, as amazing as the controls are, ive felt them before. What i do like is the subtle options, like changeing buttons commands, run speed, etc.

Options like dead zone, sensitivity, and turing speed should be standard to FPS on Wii be now.
