I'm hoping it's still got those classic Mario physics.

No platformer has played smoother then SMB3 and SMW.

Looking forward to playing it already, it looks great to see the Koopalings back, prefer them to Bowser Jr any day. Not to mention playing as two Toads, so underrated, glad to see them getting a chance to shine.

The grinder can have 4 player co-op. NSMBWii cannot because the Wii processing power is already all at usage.

agreed.  New Super Mario Bros (DS) physics was just not right.  I got used to it after a while, but I like the old school physics better.

So by that logic, Super Mario 64 is Super Mario Bros. 5?

The only way I will take that statement seriously is if, back in the day, it was code named Super Mario Bros. 4. But even then, that doesn't mean its mario 4.

NSMBWii to me means the return of the Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros 3 days back to home consoles. Both games which meant almost my entire childhood. So yeah, it's one of the biggest deals in nintendo's recent history to me ;)

I think people underestimate how popular 2D gaming is, I'd say 2D gaming is probably preferred over 3D gaming looking at the million sellers charts as well as sales of the DS, where 2D gaming is still going strong

I really like this guy's threads.They are obviously deep and well thought.The readers can clearly see the use of "such a big deal" this colloquial expressions has a big effect on us.First of all,it informs us that the subject to deal should not be taken seriously.On the other hand,we can see that the use of the phrase encourages any reader to give their input on the subject.For instance,a formal title would have alienated the thread.And that would equal less replies.Let's not forget that that the post of the OP features the same characteristics only a sentence.

In addition,we definitely feel sympathy for the OP.He shows his feelings of aggravation and bewilderment.Due to the fact,the OP does not seem to find anything unfamiliar with this new game."It's a new 2D Mario platformer."Shows us that he does not feel that this game is anything special.Unlike the general public who are excited for it.In a sense the OP perhaps feels like an outsider that cannot grasp the feelings of excitement from the others.
