Just got back from watching, and the movie is ugh... okay, I'll admit some of the fights were pretty cool. However, the rest of the crap we're forced to put up with is almost unbearable. The dialogue, the jokes, everything - even their attempts of trying to stuff Megan Fox in our face (not much of a fan). I was seriously just facepalming half the movie...

Alright, maybe it isn't that bad. It just makes me a little sick knowing how much cash it'll roll in, and that I contributed (can thank my friend for that). If you're into Optimus Prime just kickin ass, it's probably worth watching.

That's actually the biggest thing they changed. Optimus Prime is actually a BAMF in this one.

I just dont get people... people going for a deep intricate plot... a deep meaningful heartfelt story...

Do you know what Transformers is about? What it's always been about from what I remember?

Literally, this Film as you said will do amazing in terms of cash in, and it does deserve it...

You want to know why it deserves it? Because it did exactly what it was supposed to do, it perfectly targeted the demographic it was aiming for, perfected a movie for that demographic, and delivered a movie filled with BAMF ass kicking robots, hot girls, sweet ass cars and cheesy one liner jokes.

If you want a deep meaningful movie go elsewhere, because from the begging this movie was not meant for that, and not meant for you.

PS: Im not personally aiming my rant toward you, I'm aiming it toward the idiotic "professional" critics who have bashed this movie for not being something that it was never meant to be in the first place.

The movie "appears" to be a bad movie, but in reality, I'm sure it's a great movie. The reviewers were fooled by the Decepticons. As soon as they weren't looking, it would transform into "The Departed".

I still think it's crap.

I never said I wanted an intricate plot, or some deep meaningful story. I just want an enjoyable movie. Just because the "giant robots kicking each other's asses" part is good, doesn't mean the rest of the movie needs to suck.

If we're talking about "summer" type flicks, two of my favorite examples come to mind - Star Trek, and Iron Man. There's nothing intricate, deep, or meaningful (or is there?), they're mainly fun summer flicks. (All imo, of course)

As for perfecting a movie for this demographic? I'm sure Transformers could've done far better in someone else's hands. Just because the movie makes a shitton, doesn't mean it's "perfected." Also, I know it deserves whatever it gets, I'm just disappointed I had to contribute.

That would be a bit silly.

Iron Man was both "holy shit bro that was bitchin' awesome" and also a legitimately good movie. Michael Bay isn't capable of making a movie as good as Iron Man.

Your missing the entire point, and this is why the movie isnt for you.

The movie was only meant to be a big action packed, explosion fueled, mayhem enthralled clusterfuck to begin with.

And it does target the demographic perfectly, the teenish demographic, you go to a movie like this, not for the points in between action scenes, but for the eye candy explosions, over the top transformations, the babe that is Megan Fox, and the cheesy sexual oriented one liners, that is all the movie was and is going to be to begin with, everyone knows that... its a summer action flick, but for some reason everyone at the same time jump the gun and overlooks this fact.

You want to know why it will make millions? Because thats what people are going to see it for to begin with, thats why it is so successful, I mean sure it will never be as good as the classic movies of lore, but it was never going to be to begin with. It's there to provide the viewers some cheap thrills, explosions and giant ass robots blowing each others heads off with bullets flying everywhere and explosions going off every square inch.

I enjoyed the movie for this reason, and millions of others will enjoy the movie for the same reason. Stop trying to envision the movie into being something you "wish" it were, if you don't like this movie, stop bitching about it, it's not the movie for you, and let everyone else enjoy the cut-throat action sequences that make our eyes widen with childish excitement.

PS: Sorry I'm a little ticked off atm with people, even some of the most vetted critics can't even get simple facts based upon the movie in the reviews straight, making the critics themselves laughable.

Dude its got Megan Fox, how could it get low reviews?
