Forums - Nintendo - Resident Evil 4: Wii V.S. GameCube

oh thankfully an easy question.

Wii.

Around the Network

It's not even debatable, really. The Wii version runs at a higher resolution, has better control, supports the Gamecube controller, and has the bonus Playstation 2 missions. Even the box art is better.

Wii wins.

And see that little triangle in the upper left corner that says "Only for Nintendo Gamecube"?  Lies!  All lies!  Can you honestly buy a game that lies to you so blatantly?

Wii version, point and shoot with wii remote rules. :D

"Resident Evil 4: Wii edition was released for the Wii on May 31, 2007 in Japan.[citation needed] It features new controls involving the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, along with the ability to use the Classic Controller or GameCube controller instead. The Wii Remote is able to aim and shoot anywhere on the screen with a reticle that replaces the laser sight found in the other versions. It can also be flicked to use the knife to instantly target an enemy. The Wii edition also includes the extra content from the PlayStation 2 and PC versions, and a trailer for Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles."

You can use all controllers, Classic, GC and Wiimote... ANyone can adapt to it...

Off-Topic: Did you know RE4 is on the Zeebo? I just found that out... O_O

I'm going to buy the Wii edition after I finish my exams.
Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it.

Still let's give credit to the Gamecube for that is where this gem first appeared that's why you might see higher scores for the GC version.

Anyway yeah the Wii version is 2 1/2 years newer. Slightly higher resolution, more content etc.

If RE5 didn't have Co-op I'd even say that RE4 is better then RE5. And the chainsaw is more messed up in RE4.. In RE5 if you get caught with the chainsaw they don't even show "it". Did anyone else notice that?

having played both, the Wii version is the definitive version.

There's no reason to buy the GC version if the Wii version is available to you, it's just better in every way.

  • Controls-- you get the far better Wii controls along with the Classic Controller and Gamecube controls
  • Graphics-- widescreen support
  • Content-- You get the extra PS2 content

The only reason you might get the GC version over the Wii version is price, but even that isn't much of a difference.  You can the GC version for about $5-10 while the Wii version costs about $20.

get the wii version, because the main game is awesome with the remote, but for mercenaries i suggest you use the gamecube controller,

HUNK - Village 200,000+ points using neckbreaker chain on everything, even the chainsaw freaks, with bonuses, it was epic, really wished i had video-taped it :)

The Wii owners are like Ewoks. The Evil empire will tolerate them but turn their forest moon into a secret base.
