If Wii sales slow down, and PS3 and 360 release their motion controllers + price cuts (which all will happen in a period of 7 months) then no.

Here. I crossed out the ridiculous and unnecessary parts of your post. I left the rational parts intact for you.

LOL!
OP Answer: Absolutely.
Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:
If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.
If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
Why do we have to have the thread with this question every 2 months???
Just because wii is selling faster doesnt mean its gonna outsell PS2. GBA was selling faster than PS2 as well but it didnt outsold it because when DS came out, GBA pretty much died. That's how Nintenndo consoles/handhelds works. When the next one comes out the last one dies.

Not true at all, maybe in the GBA's case but that would be an exception to the rule when Nintendo has the marketleading console. NES was manufactured for 20 yrs (Sony's 10 yr plan x's 2) and the SNES for I think 14yrs, so there goes that theory..Though I also grow tired of these constant threads.

what you typed and what you showed aren't exactly the same thing, but that doens't really matter. However, if you look at the graphs and extrapolate, you will see that the DS is selling faster later in its life than the Wii is. Unless the Wii really starts taking off again the DS will take the lead in realative lifetime sales. |
Only the last half year suggests that, but it had its own specific reasons, mostly the Wii's lack of software, compared to the DS's relaunch boosts.
I expect WM+ to have a similar effect to the DS relaunches

It is ridiculous! Your theory suggests that regardless of the object itself, and even the company's plan with it, any console with "Nintendo" written on it is predestinated to die after a successor is released, while the "Sony/Playstation" brands give a magical boost to the longetivity.
PS1, PS2, and, as Arius Dion pointed out, the NES, were popular for an extraordinary long time, because they were already the most popular consoles to begin with. It is the customers who keep alive a console, by buying it. This is why Sony's ten year plan sounds ridiculous, too. They might keep it on the market, if they wish, but with the PS3's lack of an early momentum, but unless they somehow make it appealing, people won't keep buying it just because it is Sony.
GBA must be an unique case, as it wasn't even discuntinued by Nintendo at the DS's release, people just stopped buying it. But I'm sure that somehow it was the product's fault, and not the Curse Of The Nintendo Logo, that forced people to leave it on the shelves.
The Wii may suffer the same fate, if somehow they commited the same business mistake as with the GBA, or not, if they didn't.
