I haven't seen a single ad/commercial for Prototype in my neck of the woods. Tons of inFamous commercials though.

Yes, but he's pointing on wasted oportunity to sell more... Why the hell there is no Halo on PS3?
It seems like if inFamous had gone multiplat, they would have easily doubled their total sales as of right now.
| jcp234 said: Well, inFamous sold better than the PS3 version of Prototype, so that's an accomplishment. |
I agree, and I think that is due to inFamous being released prior to it and them being so similar. I only wonder if inFamous had been multiplat, if Prototype would have sold less on 360 than inFamous.

Same here. I have seen numerous of inFamous ads in the United States, I have yet to see one for Prototype.
I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.
| dsister44 said: Did you guys read the opening post? the Xbox version by itself out sold Infamous |
Yes, but we should ignore that. Only focus on the fact that its multiplatform. Damn, game did near double InFamous first week sales. Prototype was amazing though, hope it reaches million status. InFamous too.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

I really do not want some flame war. If it starts getting their I'll request a lock immediately. I am merely being hypothetical and curious if a good game like inFamous could have benefitted and outsold Prototype with being multiplat.
Obviously it isn't the same as saying "Why no Halo on PS3" because the PS3's userbase is smaller and you would not expect to double the sales just by releasing it on PS3.
As far as ads, I too have seen many inFamous ads and only one Prototype ad.
I saw plenty of Prototype ads by GameStop in NJ (the one where Alex(?) keeps missing an object to regain his memory or something like that. Only saw 1 inFamous trailer, and that was when I was watching Terminator: Salvation.

Well, imho:
Xbox 360 version outsold infamous for several reasons.
The US has an infinite amount of Xbox 360 consoles compared to the rather measly PS3 numbers. X360 fans couldn't get infamous anyway, so they would head for Prototype. PS3 people had a choice and some went for column A, others for column B?
I don't know about advertizing because there wasn't any for either over here, so can't really judge based on that.

Yeah that sig is so full of fail. :D
@ topic
I actually expected better sales from inFamous. I really did. I noticed more hype for inFamous than prototype. But as last month taught us, we need to wait for NPD numbers. VGC is REALLY good for the hardware, but the software is not that great. NPD will be fun with UFC, Prototype and Red Faction.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I agree. In fact I have an inkling feeling Prototype's numbers are too high. I just did not expect to see such decent sales with the lack of hype and with no real advertising in my area.
