In most cases the distinction is completely arbitrary. Unit levels were in strategy games long before role-playing games existed. |
Unit levels aren't the difference between TBS and sRPG.

Yeah, the Ogre series is tops for SRPGs. If your looking for a traditional SPRG
You can't get better then Let Us Cling Together. Really serious story in comparison to most SRPGs dealing with issues such as ethnic cleansing... varied classes, but requires strategy unless you level grind via training.
Tons of different hidden characters and various endings...

@sapient: Not all of those titles are sRPGs. You're mistaking TBS for sRPG. |
You got your hands on the PS2 version? Or are you just using the PS2 video to show off?

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (Wii)
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Liones (PSP)
Ogre Battle (64)
Fire Emblem:Shadow Dragon (DS, but thats probablky cause i havent played any other Handheld FE titles)

Try FYE, HMV or some similar music store.... I got one from there for like... 10 bucks. It's actually what tipped me over the top to get a PSP.
They hold on to their old games and just mark them down... and since PSP games don't sell that well.

I wish. A friend of mine heavily into Japanese stuff actually has it for her PS2 along with a few other neat Japan-only titles. Not nearly as nice as owning it myself but at least I've gotten to see and play it in person so I can't totally complain.

Please, do elucidate the distinction for me.
