Ah, the years I've spent looking for an original Ogre Battle cartridge for the SNES. That was before the internet and the PSOne reissue. I remember my brother (a fan as well) spending 100 $CAN on a used copy.

I remember reading about this game in Nintendo Power for months, and eagerly looking at video game stores for ages. I had to resort to borrowing it from a friend. Still wish I could have my own original copy.

Super Robot Wars OGS is probably the best sRPG I've enjoyed. There are lots of runner ups and franchises like Sakura Taisen, Disgaea, Fire Emblem, and more but SRW is amazing.

@sapient: Not all of those titles are sRPGs. You're mistaking TBS for sRPG.
