The reason this thread has lasted so long, is because the comments are drawn down party lines, as it were. With few exceptions, I've noticed that people with signatures that mention Nintendo favorably bash Shia, while people with signatures that mention only the PS360 (e.g. sales charts that exclude the Wii), are a signature derived from a specific PS360 game/their online services, or are otherwise critical of the Wii, praise Shia or defend his opinion.
So basically, you end up with a situation where touchy Wii owners bash Shia because Shia insulted the Wii and its owners using the "real gamers" line, while PS360 owners on the warpath have taken this opportunity to use Shia's comments to snipe at the Wii under the guise of agreeing with Shia, as they would ordinarily be unable to express such opinions without risking a ban (i.e. "he said it, not me"). Of course, such bashing only feeds the response of the Wii owners who have already appeared in this thread, leading to a five page train wreck. So if everyone will kindly stop shooting...
(Disclosure: I'm a Nintendo loyalist, though I take no side on this issue; he may be a jerk about this, but he's entitled to think what he will)
