Forums - Nintendo - Shia LaBeouf (Transformers) calls Wii "an amateur console"

That's odd. I thought that an amateur console would perfectly suit an amateur actor like Shia LaBeuf.

That joke has been made about 20 times throughout the thread, but I like yours the best.

Thanks Okey.  They call me the greatest comedian of our generation for a reason.

Ok, after hitting page 10 here in this thread, looking to see if what I posted was posted, all I have to say is. Shia just one thing to what you said...

NONONONONONONO!

Someone remind me why I am supposed to care about what Shia thinks of videogames.

That video was the first thing I thought of too. I've always disliked him as an actor and cannot understand why Speilberg has a hard on for him.

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

Transformers is awesome.. and BTW OH THE DRAMA !

I'm not gonna read through the thread .. too many posts and I can't be arsed.

What I will say is that I think hes a pretty decent actor.. and that.. again, transformers is awesome..

Also le beuf is a pretty cool name cause it's pronounced like le bøf in danish XD

Check out my game about moles ^

The reason this thread has lasted so long, is because the comments are drawn down party lines, as it were.  With few exceptions, I've noticed that people with signatures that mention Nintendo favorably bash Shia, while people with signatures that mention only the PS360 (e.g. sales charts that exclude the Wii), are a signature derived from a specific PS360 game/their online services, or are otherwise critical of the Wii, praise Shia or defend his opinion.

So basically, you end up with a situation where touchy Wii owners bash Shia because Shia insulted the Wii and its owners using the "real gamers" line, while PS360 owners on the warpath have taken this opportunity to use Shia's comments to snipe at the Wii under the guise of agreeing with Shia, as they would ordinarily be unable to express such opinions without risking a ban (i.e. "he said it, not me").  Of course, such bashing only feeds the response of the Wii owners who have already appeared in this thread, leading to a five page train wreck.  So if everyone will kindly stop shooting...

(Disclosure: I'm a Nintendo loyalist, though I take no side on this issue; he may be a jerk about this, but he's entitled to think what he will)

@ Kenny I only called Shia an amateur actor beacause he really does suck. If he said that he loved the Wii, I would be saying that he's giving Nintendo fans a bad name.

@amp316

I'm not pointing fingers at you, or any individual in particular. I'm just documenting how the groups are reacting on an aggregate level.

No.  You're right in what you're saying.  Many people are choosing to to love or hate LaBeof's comments based on whether they support the Wii or not.

I just wanted to point out that I personally wasn't saying what I was saying because of my console of choice.

Lol look at those raging fanboys. Dayum.

It's his opinion chill out.

True Gamers do it on PCs.

360 and PS3 are getting closer but still fall a few paces short.

I agree with him on Wii though. Actually I think he's being generous calling it an 'Amateur Console'. I would say 'Beginner/Novice Console'. I had one and found it mildly amusing for about a week. Then I sold it along with all the kindergarten games to upgrade my graphics card and play some real games. I've never looked back.
