Forums - Gaming - Xbox 360 controller - No1 Contoller this Gen! Microsoft leader approves!!

This was not an easy decision to make my Vgchartz community, but having owned all 3 consoles for some time now I can say without any bias that the Xbox 360 controller is the best controller of this generation, the controller kicks ass. The controller that makes the gaming experience just better especially when playing shooters. Considering the Xbox controller was a disaster being too big, Microsoft really delivered with the Xbox 360 controller. The problem with the Dualshock 3 is that not only did it come to late but the controller is too light and small. Despite the innovation shown by the wii controller I still would prefer the gamecube controller.

The Xbox 360 is a beast of a controller, a real man's controller and one must not wield this controller without supervision

2nd Place - Dualshock 3

3rd Place - Wii remote

Special thanks to the community

Yep. I hope the next xbox has the same controller and Dualshock 3 gets the same analog sticks as 360

All got faults and advantages...

360 cant do 2d fighters. But otherwise its great. Most confortable controller in your hand ever? I think so...

PS3 is jack of all trades. Does everything but some 3D stuff like aiming and triggers is not as good as 360.

Wii mote does things others cant...but it also cant let me do basic stuff like control the camera in No more heroes.

360's is the best traditional controller, but I still prefer the Wii remote.

I agree with you on this. I end up using the GameCube controller for more games then I should. The motion is nice but they should have been at the level of the Motion+ since the release. My vision of the Wii when it came out was light saber battles, but I was disappointed when I found out that was not possible. The Motion+ will fix this but the fact it is an add on drops points for me.

As for the Dual Shock I feel the Analog Sticks are way too loose and the shoulder buttons are half between a button and a trigger and just doesn’t feel right. The triggers on the 360 work great on all games not just FPS or driving games. Really this is one of the best controllers ever. Baring the horrid D-pad that is. But I don't have that much of a problem with it. It also works great for a PC which can't be done on any other console gamepad without an adapter.

Haha...Sony/MS leader...but really an entertainer....too true. You do go that extra step to entertain. The main difference is that analog stick where the D-Pad is...and the bumpers. Those are the things that make the difference. I still prefer Dualshock..but I enjoy using the 360-mote.

Wiimote is by far the best controller this generation. It revolutionized gaming thus far and microsoft and sony have decided to jump onto the motion-control bandwagon because of it. You should have said "Best traditional controller". Then throw the classic wii controller in there. That makes a bit more sense than the Wiimote.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

so the best controller is the one that does absolutely nothing new? Stale formula is the end of the videogame industry, atleast Nintendo consistently pushes the boundries and ironically now the competition agrees with me.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

nah I love the DS2 way more. It really is a matter of personal preference
