You really think they are that close to bankruptcy.

Sony has been having extreme financial trouble in more then just their games department. Cutting the price on the PS3 while they are still taking an estimated $100 loss(estimated around 5 months ago) certainly wouldn't help.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Yes

Their productions were less than a $50 loss six months ago and a slim and close to 3 months from now would probably be in the same place they are now if they keep two skus like now a 299.99 and a 399.99

A $100 price drop would be amazing, but I don't think they need that. I think that:

- For $349...80 GB Slim PS3 w/Gran Turismo 5 and Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time
and
- For $399...160 GB Slim PS3 w/Modern Warfare 2 and Killzone 2

How does that sound? The slim PS3 would cost less to make (which may cancel out the $50 drop and its cheaper to throw a couple good games in then it is to drop the price another $50 to $299.

That wouldn't be bad but sony would never put those games in with it thats just wishfull thinking.

Donate 4billion dollars to SONY and they just might do it...

4 ≈ One

Sure thing but i will need to borrow that from you first.

price is not a 'little thing'

Why do people still think that new games are going to push significant hardware???

It amazes me.

Exactly...especially when the games mentioned do not seem all that appealing (in my opinion).

Honestly, I am only interested in God of War III on the PS3...well, and inFamous. Everything else is on the 360 and Nintendo Wii.
