Okay if we are counting an additional 6 months, than second half of 97 and 98 was the golden age of gaming. (If we have to label it that).

I don't need to mention the games of 1998, all we need to know is that the second half of 97 gave us (among other things) FF7. FF7 alone (for alot of people, not me though) outshines nearly all of that list by itself.

I'd agree with the time, late 90's was easily it.

I didn't even have a Playstation, but that was also around when games like Gran Turismo, Goldeneye, OoT, and Starcraft came out. I'm not a big fan of Half-Life (CS is more my thing), but that game was pretty massive, too. I'm sure there are more, but that alone should be enough to give you an idea...

Oh, and Pokemon hit NA at the end of 98. That's a lot of hits right there, on all platforms (handheld, PC, consoles).

You're definitely seeing some instant classics in there, but very little of this of this is really revolutionary, or is the kind of thing that will be remembered well into the future

Either way, no span of time can beat the early years of last generation, 2000, 2001, and 2002. They produced more of the best games of all time than any other period, edging out the time immediately before that (97, 98, and 99)

Mine would have to be Gran Turismo 5. The others after this would be Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, God of War 3 and Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2 (Or what ever the name is)

Sales on consoles will always rise and Pc sales will always fall because more and more people buy the console version instead of the Pc version. Plus,the ones that use a Pc can anytime pirate the game at no additional charge or effort.

Steam? No thanks,there are plenty of torrent sites that make Steam irrelevant. Even multyplayer is piratated,so take a break.

As the consoles sale more and more,less games will be made available on Pc because of the piracy and porting costs(many systems out there and many optimisation is needed).

Condemned is a mediocre series? Try Stalker...now that is a mediocre series.

Crysis 2 will be on consoles,and many more Pc exclusives will arive on consoles? Why? Because they sale on consoles. Period.

Look...you have Starcraft 2...Warcraft...Diablo 3...WoW... enjoy them. But don`t say consoles don`t have exclusive games or console only games. Final Fantasy 13 will not come to Pc just as Starcraft 2 will not come to consoles. It just can`t be done and people won`t buy them even if they do. Period.

Were you around during the SNES and Genesis era of gaming? or how about 1998 when MGS1 was out? In Addition to the Greatest Game of all, Ocarina ot Time?We'll see how those games turn out from your OP but, Im inclined to say no. No it will not be. Though I wouldn't mind being wrong. I'd buy a console from EA, Activision, Sega or Valve before I'd buy one from Sony or MS.
