It was in regards to this:
My point was just that sony is selling almost as much as the xbox which in the economic climate should be sufficient.
whether they make money or not isn't really the case
they want a price drop so more people can buy the ps3 and then those people would buy more of their products so this way they can make MORE money

GOW3: it's expected in March, right? If so, that won't impact this FY's numbers much, since that's when it ends. What's more I don't think GOW3 is a big system seller. GT5: This is the true system seller than Sony has left for the PS3. However, it's not expected for the holiday period when it would be really huge (since GT Portable is launching this year, and GT5 would overshadow it). So this is probably another one which if anything, will come late in the fiscal year. FF13: Not an exclusive, so not much impact outside of Japan... and it's not coming for the holiday season either.

depends on when GOW3 comes out in march
GT5 is expected this year from the rumors plus he said its done and can release anytime
ff13 is coming in japan this year which will boost ps3 sales a bit in that area.
All this with a $100 price drop i dont see why they could not hit it.
HAHAHAHA!!! I can agree on the Xbox, but the Wii? Selling better? How much did CoD:WaW bring Activision on the Wii? Now how about the PS3? Wii didn't even get CoD4. Sure the 360 versions sold more, but the PS3 versions still sold extremely well.
That's like Rockstar going to GTA5: "GTAIV *only* sold a little under 6M on the PS3, but sold 7M on the 360, so we should drop the Sony platform because the return on the invest wasn't *as* big"
And then the Wii.....don't even get me started there. It may be the fastest selling console all time, but for the games that matter, it sure isn't the console you should be supporting if you're going to drop the PS3.

Let me put it another way... When you're starting a business, you expect to lose money (or not make much) in the beginning. You don't have customers and you may have to lower prices to attract people. But if a few years later you're still not getting what you expected from your business, that's when you start to evaluate whether you should jump out or not. However I don't believe they would stop supporting the PS3 completely... maybe just port less games to it? One thing's for sure, this is largely a way to ask Sony for a price cut (which I believe Sony is planning for this year anyway).

Uhhh....question. Did Activision stop supporting the Xbox 1 when the PS2 outsold it by 100M? No? So even if they are "politely asking" to drop the price, why would they even take this measure as a means to do it? CoD4, WaW, Guitar Hero, etc. put up great numbers for the PS3 AND for Activision. Unless this is an empty threat and Kotick is just a fat vagina

Can someone explain me this sentence?
"They have to cut the price, because if they don't, the attach rates are likely to slow"

I think the original xbox was easy to program for so they didn't have to spend a lot of extra development time, and money on it.

Activision has become the third-party company to really dislike. This is tough for me to say because it is one of the few companies out there that can draw its origins back to the classic era (though it does not acknowledge any history on its or the ActivisionBlizzard websites).
Given its offerings on the Wii (CoD but not MW, GH, movie-ties and bad dated mini game collections), it could disappear as far as I am concerned. With the addition of Tony Hawk, Modern Warfare and a few other titles (and the omission of the mini-games), its PS3/Xbox 360 offerings appear to be similarly thin.
It seems to have replaced Electronic Arts (which is also an older company but only dates back to the initial micro-computer era) as the publisher with a problem attitude. (And ironically EA is actually becoming a much more likable company).

If they have any business sence they will not stop making CoD for the PS3.... Guitar hero is easaly replacible by Rock Band... and now i will never buy another Guitar Hero... Keep talking Activision... and ill replce CoD with socom or any one of other billions of shooter out there...
