That list lacks some Bayonetta, imo, but otherwise, yeah, I see where you're coming from.

I would add Scribblenauts to mine as well, and Forza 3. I liked Forza 3 better than ME2.

So, MikeB, would you said Gametrailers is the site you agree with most, when it comes to this E3?


Haven't had the chance to look at many other sites regarding E3 awards so far. Usually I agree most with IGN regarding their analysis amongst the mainstream gaming press.

I think Gametrailers' picks this year were excellent.

Also the game-play in GOW2 is top notch so why change it

I went to a bunch of football games at MSU fall semester and they looked way better. Much more lifelike and unpredictable. J/K, game looks great.

well most of their nominees were questionable in most of the videos.
in best game they didn't even mentioned bout Forza 3 or Halo ODST
in best wii game they didn't even bother to mention New Super Mario Bros, Silent Hill or Tatsunoko vs Capcom(not to mention that Dj Hero won the best wii game award which is just ridiculous).
i won't even comment 360 nominees - where's Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, Halo?

GT was really sony biased in those awards or something if you look what they did with everything not related to sony console.

and sorry, but Lost Planet 2 looks at least on par with Uncharted 2 if not even better.

I played God of War for the first time recently. I avoided it up to now because I thought the gameplay seemed monotonous. But whoa, even without playing GoWII I so want to play GoWIII.

I took 15 minutes to check game sites from my bookmarks to verify the bolded sentence. My findings for all those that had "best of E3" awards:

  • Gamespy: "Action" category, GoW III is a runner up. Also runner up for "Best PS3 game".
  • IGN: "Action" category, GoW III is a runner up. Also runner up for "Best graphics technology" and "Best console game".
  • Gametrailers: GoW III wins "Game of the Show". Also, quite naturally, it won "Best PS3 game"
  • GameSpot: "Action/Adventure" category, GoW III is a runner up.
  • Game Critics Award: "Action/Adventure" category, GoW III is nominated.
  • GamePro: GoW III wins "Best Action game". It's also picked as one of the 9 Gold Awards overall.
  • X-play: "Best PS3 game" category, GoW III is a runner up (there's no Action nor Action/Adventure category).
  • Eurogamer: "Best of Show", GoW III is a runner up (there's no Action nor Action/Adventure category).

Thus, in none of my sites that dealt E3 awards it was absent from the action(/adventure) list where it exists. Where such a category does not exist, it's nominated as best PS3 game or overall best game of Show. In some cases it was also nominated in other categories' lists.

Feel free to point me to other sites, though.
