Forums - Microsoft - Some "leaked" Halo:Reach information.

http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=33830578&postRepeater1-p=3

Oh, I almost forgot.
I'm an inside member of the biggest italian videogames forum community (Forumeye.it), and I've some friends that followed E3-09 directly, and talked with some MS employers in the show, asking about Reach to everyone. They can't say a lot cause it's still everything top secret for now, but that's what they told to me:

-It's an FPS, and not a MMO or similar (and ok)
-It's more Multiplayer/Online oriented then previous Halo, and the SP Campaign will be something "different" to what we've seen so far with the previous games.
-The game is under development since after Halo 3, and for more time then ODST (that is developed by a small part of the team, and it was done in 1 year and an half)
-New graphic engine!
-The multiplayer will be different/new.
-It's the "next big Halo" for Bungie and Microsoft, same importance as an Halo 4
-It's everything "darker" and more serious.
-150 people are working on the Project since 2007

You can trust me or not, you can take those info like rumors or not, but I know my sources and I trust them completely, and Halo: Reach really seems to be huge like we supposed!

No credibility, but nothing outrageous here, in fact they are pretty safe assumptions that anyone could make.  Very heavy quotations on "leaked" here.

I can't say those "leaked" rumors did anything for me really. I'll wait for more concrete info. It can't be too far away.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

What I found most interesting is that they said it's been in development for longer than ODST, and has a team of 150 people that have been working on it. This is going to be huge!

Nothing shocking there really.

Wow, they could be hitting $50M development budget! 150 * 110k (more for previous success/experience) * 3.

This game will be a bigger release than most movies make in their lifetime. 5M+ confirmed first week?

Tease.

I think the multiplayer in reach will be bigger. Larger battlefields, more players, etc

I wouldn't be so sure.  Bungie has said over and over for years that they really feel like 5 v 5 or 6 v 6 is as big as they feel like they can really provide a great experience for.

However, if the multiplayer is indeed considerably different - then maybe.  I'd like it.  I've always been a fan of 8 v 8 Halo on the bigger maps.  I like to get vehicles involved meaningfully.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

I think you might be right...its probably gonna support up to 32 players

Hmmm... adding dedicated servers to remove host advantage and those host related mods, and increasing potential playlists to up to 32 players would be pretty cool. I probably wouldn't do big matches much, but having the choice, and the smoothness of dedicated servers would be very awesome! Maybe the multiplayer will be like Human vs. Covenant instead of just spartans (since there is more than one spartan in this new game).

It will definitely be darker, especially if it follows the story of The Fall of Reach (for obvious reasons).

That worries me, because i liked the offline part of Halo 3 much better than the online portion.
