Forums - Sony - Persona 3 FES: Add 1 more number to the sales! Will it live up to the hype?

I got a fresh new copy of Persona 3 FES after trading in a a few crappy games and it was on sale for $16 ($16 after tax) so yea it was a steal.
Not to mention I got $18 credit left over at Gamestop............Knights in the Nightmare will be mine.......

Anyways Im gonna start tonight and see if this game lives up to all the hype and rabbid fanboyism that surrounds Megaten and their games. Ive wanted to try this game for a long time before I knew about the internet hype or even visited forums. =P

Well yea thats it. =P I will update with impressions tommorow or later today....(its 1am)

Off Topic - While gamestop can be cool theyre a fucking rip. I got 70 cents for Xenosaga.........I didnt check the reciept till later. The games that got me the most money were Wii DBZ 3 Wii RE4 and PSP GTA. Everything else got me shit. Oh well I hated Xenosaga anyways and no one around here plays PS2 anymore. (Selling shit online too much of a hassle)

No posts.......well I did do this at almost 2am.

Impressions: After about 1hr+ of playing I only fought once and the combat seemed ok. I did however have a ton of fun not fighting but just doing all the small visual novel type stuff within the game. So far Im having a lot of fun.

Pros:The art and visuals of the game are great. Persona has awesome art and character design I really like it and its cool to get out of the usual fantasy settings. I dont like turn-based combat too much but it looks fun here and overall it looks simple mainly so thats why its a pro. Menus and shit look simple and slick so hopefully I dont get overwhelmed with a bunch of stats that are usually unimportant.

Cons: As usual the dubbing is pretty annoying. The main guy with the glasses, that gay looking kid in the beginning, and Iori (I think is his name) have the worst and most irritating voices in the game. I have to skip whenever they speak.

The music is pretty damn bad. The hip hop and....R&B? I dunno what to label the type of music of that soft singing woman with hyper beat. Anyways that also gets irritating. I thought it was gonna be more Jpop/Jrock but oh well.

played 4 yet?

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

You got P3 FES?

Oh fuck, you're in for a treat. The experience is something else. Also, I thought you hated turn based battles?

I won't say shit. JUST ENJOY.

Haha yup. Well everyone hypes the hell out of these games I doubt I will got crazy over em but it does looks really good right now and Im liking it.

I dont "hate" them. (Sometimes I use too strong of words) I just prefer action/real-time after playing DotNW and Soma Bringer. Turn based in Xenosaga were boring as hell but turn-based in SRT:Endless Frontier are pretty damn fun.

@Ajescent
Nope this is my first Persona/Megaten game.

If you enjoy this one, I suggest you try Digital Devil Saga later. Random battles, yup, but the battle system is great and very similar to P3. (with all-enemy hitting skills, the battles pass very quickly, too)

It also has quite the story+characters.

How far have you gotten, you probably passed me already, DAMN I need my summer to start already to play all these GAMES!!!

^_^

How far in are you, skeez? I only recently returned to persona 3, and I'm.. like... 51 hours in.

God no. Random battles just god no. I will never play a game with random battles again.....especially console. Endless Frontier is an expeption because....that entire game is random awesomeness.

@skeez
Not far. I just made it the front of that school where youre gonna train with Iori and the girl. I turned off and went to sleep after I got there.
