June 15, 2009 - A recent trademark filing by Sega seems to indicate a new Super Monkey Ball game will be heading to the Nintendo Wii, and it could involve lots and lots of stepping.

Titled Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll, the naming trademark was filed last week by Sega Corp. No other details were revealed, however, the subtitle 'Step & Roll' seems to imply the game will make extensive use of the Wii Balance Board.

Perhaps we'll hear more about this at the Tokyo Game Show this September? Stay tuned.

If this involves "tilt" control with the balance board it could actually be a lot of fun. Even though everyone else complained I actually liked the Monkey Ball on the Wii.
