What I don't understand is how you compare it with Far cry and AC

GTA IV is a great game, but you'll have more fun with Saints Row 2 (though it's quite a bit shorter, but has a full coop "campaign")
You should also consider InFamous & Prototype.

If you have a 360 buy crackdown, if you don't i'd recommend you saint row2 or prototype

GTA4 is horrible, don't buy it!  I did the exact same thing.  Bought it expecting a good game, sold it after a month cuz it sucked.  And it's still gonna suck if you buy it again.  I wouldn't do it, there are other way better sandbox games out there including inFamous and Prototype.  It doesn't matter that you'll save $20.  You should be happier to spend $20 extra for something you'll probably like than spending any money on something you already know you don't like. 

I hope you mean represent a minority on this website??? Because GTAIV is easily the most popular HD game there is this generation. I guess it goes back to being a matter of opinnion. To me, Liberty city in GTAIV feels alive. The story, characters and mission system are freaking awesome like every other GTA game. The graphics have been amped up. The introducion of a cover system makes the shootouts a billion times more fun. Cars handle differently and the damage looks phenomenal compared to older GTA's. inFamous is fucking amazing, but it is currently second best in the genre after GTAIV.

SR2 is a blast.... And prototype is ALOT of fun... there is Godfather2 but i hear mixed review so that one is a good fallback...its a 50/50 chance youll like it :)

That I could strongly disagree with, and not even being a Halo fan say Halo 3 is.  And I'd be right.

And you're right, it is a matter of opinion.  Theres no inbetween with this game..either you love it or you hate it.  I think GTAIV is a disgrace to the GTA name and franchise to be quite honest.  But, it is just opinion.

See that's where your wrong. What makes you think Halo 3 is more popular than GTAIV if GTAIV has sold over a million units more and has recieved higher critical acclaim?

it's good, but there are so much better games to spent your money and time on!
