Gorgepir, what other channels do you have? I'm thinking maybe it was a bug in the update that tried to update a channel you don't have, so it ended up making one. From what I've seen discussed before, it seems to have appeared during the update for a lot of other people.

does it appear on the main screen or just when you go into the memory section?....i haven't checked recently but i will check tomorrow afternoon when i go home (at uni atm)

Yeah, it appeared during the last update cycle, when Metroid Prime preview channel became available. We discussed it back then and no one has had any definitive answer as to why it is or is not there, as some people do not have it.
