No they didn't. If the Final Fantasy series were the only good jrpgs i would not be the jrpg fan i am today.

You know, Im sorry for getting slightly off topic, but Making music once you start playing FF VII (I myself am a first timer as well, and I own FF X) you are going to be amazed on how good it actually is.

The graphics may hamper your experience for the first 5 minutes if anything, but after that you will fall in love, or atleast I did..

no i didnt say they were the only great ones. I no there are tons that are just as good (shit even better than it) but it is the games that really standout and the one that is most recognized by all

Tales of Vesperia will reignite your love of JRPGs. I was actually just about to make a "Damn Vesperia is STILL a fine game" thread, but I'm gonna wait until its one year anniversery. Trust me, Vesperia is NOT just another Tales game. It is the BEST Tales game.



GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

I still don't see what's wrong. It's a fact that 50% percent of the RPGs released are crap, it happens with every genre. For every Persona there's a Magna Carta, for every FF there's a Shadow Hearts. I hope you're not trying to imply that every JRPG is good

you are going to love FFVII, if you're into JRPG's it's almost impossible not to love (I know some JRPG fans don't like it but you get what I am trying to say)

I know this is a little off-topic but after starting the game 2 weeks ago, and finishing it 2 or 3 days ago, I listened to the Tour De Japon Orchestra version of Aeris' theme and it brought a tear to my eye. The game is powerful enough to make a 16 year old guy cry.

I know I'm a fanboy, please don't respond negatively

i agree there are some JRPG's that are either not up to par or are just..decent(SO4, LR im looking at u). But what really pisses me off here is that whenever one of those crap games are released. People seem to lash out at the genre as a whole and belivve that the flaws that particular game has, is reflected in every JRPG out there.....ummm are these guys for real??? thats like saying Killzone was a bad shooter b/c of this and that and all shooters are like this. I hate guys like this
