Realistic, no. I don't think there's much of a market for a realistic surgery sim.

Fun, yes. Hell yes. I suggest you get the second one, since the story isn't really anything special in the Trauma Center series but the second DS game has better game design and production values.

Buy the 2nd game used from Amazon by using the VGC store.  The game is a lot of fun.  I highly recommend it.  Keep in mind that it isn't a casual game but a slightly addictive game for core gamers with a fun twist.  You may learn some medical terms but you will not learn how to be a doctor.

Is it better to get the ds version or the wii one? They're the same game right?

Everyone was wrong. The story was predictable and cheesy and way too drawn out. But that doesn't matter. What matters is the gameplay.

What's wrong with the gameplay?
It's often the same level over and over and the "difficulty" is literally that level done faster than you did it the time before.

Here's a great suggestion. Get the game Used at gamestop. At gamestop you can trade in games within 7 days. You will finish the game in a day or two maybe, and you will see exactly what I'm talking about. It feels like they had no room in the tiny little disk, and rehashed the game over and over in order to draw out the gameplay.

As most people have stated- the second game is a lot of fun. I'd suggest you get that one if you really want to open people up with your stylus and slice their organs >:o

if you like puzzle games, then this game is pretty good.
