People play multiplayer games on the Wii. Let's assume those 4 games that are bundled with WM+ account for 10 million in sales before the end of the year. Now not everyone buying one of these games is going to buy additional WM+ units but some are going to buy one, some will buy two and some will buy three because they are going to want to enjoy these games with other people. In this way i can see another 10 million units being sold. I'm not saying it's guaranteed but it's certainly possible.

If WSR has an attach rate of 25% or something like that, it would guarantee over 14 mill. WM+ sold alone by the end of the year.

Factor in Tiger Woods, Grand Slam Tennis and RS2, you'll have another 3 million.

The other 3 million may come from multiplayer needs.

Now if only Nintendo would ship enough.

20 Million hardware units?

I think its possible considering I will probably own at least 2 and I know others who want 4. I don't think WSR has a chance to hit 20 million this year but the hardware will probably make a respectable run at it.

Well i've bought 3 so far with GST and Tiger Woods. I'm just waiting for WSR to complete the set. In my house multiplayer is the only way to go and Wii Sports Resort will be great. I think the 20 million is just dependent on supply.

Not enough time to sell that many in 2009. Also EA said they received 500k M+ units so it is unknown if they will get more when current supply is sold.

According to a quote here, EA won't get more. I doubt that EA got anywhere near 10% of the supply Nintendo has, so on the supply side they will probably have enough to sell 20 million.

That's unfortunate that EA didn't get more ... Locally Tiger Woods seems to be sold out, and if EA could keep the bundle I'm certain many people would favour paying $60 for Tiger Woods with MotionPlus than $20/$25 without it.

I wonder if 500k is for all the regions. Divided between Europe and America, and between two games (Tiger Woods and GST), that seems quite low.

They might just want to make the supplies last before WSR debiuts by producing good feedback and demand.
