Thats because the PS3 had an atrocious start. And now with the recession, a $400 price-tag isnt helping, things should get better from this point next year.

Assuming there is a price cut and a slim model, of course.

It's not even Europe, it's Japan as well, which easily sold better then the XBox 360, as it have over 2 million more units sold in Japan. I'd like to see Europe sales only without U.S. or Japan. Worldwide the PS3 will show a fast sales because the system has always sold better in Japan and better early on in Europe.  If Microsoft could sell about twice what it's selling in Japan now, they'd be in good shape. They are slowly breaking into the Japan market though and getting companies like Capcom, SquareEnix, Konami and Namco to support their system is a huge start.

There is suppose to be a price cut of $100 in August.

I'll believe it when I see it. If Sony does do this large price cut, expect a few things to happen.

1) Microsoft will counter with a $50 price cut across the board on all 3 systems.

2) Sony will lose have about $2 billion in loses for the 2009 year.

3) PS3 will start to sell like crazy and Sony will slowly start to catch up to Microsoft.

4) Expect the 2009 holidays to be very close in hardware sales.

well yea of course europe is where the PS3 gets its lead. If you compare GC to PS3 they are almost dead even with JP+NA, but the PS3 gets a huge advantage when you add in others.

No surprise considering the Wii was the first Nintendo console which truly took off in Europe.
